Heading to the Happiest Place on Earth? If you're getting to the park early, then breakfast is going to be first on your agenda.  These are the BEST Disneyland Breakfast Options!

Let's talk Disneyland food.  If you're hitting the park for rope drop (aka opening) then you're going to be hungry and wanting breakfast.  And let me tell you, food is an important part of preparing for the full day at a theme park especially Disneyland.  From the perfect Disneyland outfits for all weather to a list of Disneyland rides to planning out your must see characters…….you need to plan out your meals.  For a long day? We normally do a larger breakfast and then a lighter lunch since we're in the thick of rides and such by then.

These? Some of our favorite options.  We've got both parks (Disneyland and Disney California Adventure) and we've got all meal types (quick service, sit down and character dining).  These restaurants are all in park options.  There are also some great options for Disneyland Breakfast at the hotels……but I'll outline that separately in a different blog post.

The Best Disneyland Breakfast Options

Quick Service Breakfast Options:

These are great options if you're in a hurry.  If you want to order at the counter and eat quickly, moving along to other things on your agenda……a quick service breakfast is your best bet.  There are also Starbucks locations in each park (on Main Street in Disneyland and Buena Vista Street next to the fountain in Disney California Adventure) if you want to grab coffee and keep going.

Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe:  The Jolly Holiday Cafe is one of my favorite spots inside of Disneyland.  They make great coffee, and their breakfast sandwiches are DELISH.  They also have pastries (the cinnamon rolls are AMAZING) and great outdoor seating (perfect for people watching).  Bonus? They have mobile ordering, so if you're REALLY in a hurry? Mobile order your food as you enter and pick it up en route to your favorite Disneyland Rides.

Flo's V8 Cafe:  Spoiler: the brioche french toast at Flo's is literally the BEST I've ever had.  Yes, you'll have to sit down to eat it after ordering at the counter.  But it's one hundred percent worth devoting a few minutes to.  If you're headed to Disney California Adventure, it's in Cars land and perfect for starting your day.

Market House: Looking for quick and easy? Market House on Main Street is a GREAT option (it's also one of the best places to get coffee at Disneyland).  Market House is a Disneyland run Starbucks location, so you can get all your favorites from your local Starbucks menu including coffee drinks, muffins and egg bites!

Ronto Roasters: Want to head straight to Galaxy's Edge and Star Wars Land? Then Ronto Roasters has a great breakfast option….the Ronto Morning Wrap (think breakfast burritos).  They have both a plant based (the Ronto-less garden wrap)and meat option, and it's the perfect eat on the go breakfast.

Pym Test Kitchen: Want to assemble your breakfast options with the Avengers? Avenger's Campus has a GREAT breakfast option: Pym Test Kitchen.  Their Ever-expanding Cinna-Pym Toast is AMAZING, and I love the Calculated Breakfast as a great bacon and eggs classic breakfast option.

Sit Down Breakfast Options:

Have a little more time? Sitting and eating a full breakfast is often our most relaxed part of a Disneyland day.  I love having the time to eat, let Lydia relax and to drink as much coffee as possible before a busy day begins.

Carnation Cafe: We actually tried Carnation Cafe breakfast for the first time recently, and I loved it.  It's smack dab in the middle of Main Street, and has GREAT classic breakfast options.  Lydia loved the Mickey waffles (obviously) and the egg white frittata is DELISH with a side of fresh fruit!

Lamplight Lounge: The Lamplight Lounge brunch is fairly new, and has amazing grown up menu items! If you're going to Disney California Adventure, it's at the top of Disneyland Breakfast list.  The Chilaquiles are SO SO SO good and so is the Egg White Frittata Bake and yes, they have Mickey Mouse pancake meals too.

Character Breakfast Options:

Disneyland Character Dining is an amazing and unique experience.  And there are a ton of options (both at the Disneyland resort hotels and in the park).  We do have a full character dining guide, but I wanted to share a few options here as well for your theme parks planning purposes.  If you book these great breakfast options, don't forget to bring an autograph book!

Plaza Inn: During the morning hours, the Plaza Inn is home to Minnie and Friends – Breakfast in the Park.  This character breakfast at the end of Main Street is home to Minnie and a whole cast of your favorite Disney characters (we've seen Captain Hook, Chip and Dale and the Fairy Godmother here).  Plus, it's the perfect way to start your day with a character encounter and to be IN PARK.  The breakfast is buffet (you can also custom order omeletes), and we love sitting for an hour or two while our daughter gets those character moments in.  We always spend a little extra time sipping on coffee, and go back for seconds (or even thirds).

Goofy's Kitchen: Now, technically Goofy's Kitchen is in the Disneyland Hotel, not inside the Disneyland park.  But it's a TON of fun (trust me, the peanut butter and jelly pizza is going to be a BIG hit) and a great relaxing start to the day and a perfect opportunity to skip the long lines to get in first thing in the morning.  You are guaranteed to see Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Chef Goofy and all your favorite characters plus to get your fill of Mickey waffles at the same time.   After eating you can walk through Downtown Disney and enter the park quickly!

Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures: If you're looking for an upscale, gourmet meal, and what I'd argue is the BEST breakfast at Disneyland…..this special experience inside the Grand Californian and Napa Rose is IT.  This multiple course meal is amazing, and has truly unique princess interactions (plan on 2-3 hours….it's longer than a usual meal).  The Grand Californian also has Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Brunch Buffet next door at Storyteller's Cafe on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Frequently Asked Questions About Getting Breakfast at Disneyland:

  1. What about Red Rose Taverne? Ariel's Grotto? The Character Breakfast at the Paradise Pier Hotel (inside PCH Grill), Donald Duck's Seaside Breakfast? These locations are not currently open for breakfast (you can check for the latest on these in the Disneyland app).
  2. Are there quick service options at the Resort Hotels? There absolutely are! A few of my favorite options: Tangaroa Terrace at the Disneyland Hotel is a good option, so is the coffee shop next to Goofy's Kitchen. Both are these are perfect for a quick bite and coffee!
  3. Where can I get Breakfast Burritos inside Disneyland? Try the Galactic Grill inside Tomorrowland! While we're at it…..want the BEST quick service item? Try the chicken tamale breakfast option at the cart in Disney California Adventure!
  4. What about Steakhouse 55? I heard they have amazing apple granola pancakes! Steakhouse 55 will not be reopening (I know, I'm sad too).

Now, if I’m being totally honest…..this pulled Now, if I’m being totally honest…..this pulled muscle? I should have known better. When training for my race, I didn’t stretch or warm up enough most days and….here we are.Lesson learned. I’m 4 weeks post race (do not recommend running a 10k on a pulled muscle) and I’m……almost better. I’m learning to stretch and walk and to take better care of myself so that I can start running again REALLY soon (we’re almost there I think). For now? I’m doing recovery walks and trying to strengthen my leg. And trying to make sure I get enough protein. When I talked about Built Bars on my stories, a LOTTTTT of you raced about their Puffs. Yup, I get it. They’re AMAZING. I’ve been bringing them along on my walks (and gluten free friends….they have some great options for us).Have you ever pulled a muscle? What was recovery like for you?#youGOTTAtrythis #BUILTProtein #BUILT #BUILTbar partner
💕Double Tap when you see who we found at the zo 💕Double Tap when you see who we found at the zoo (and swipe to the end for a close up)⠀⠀🌴Coming to San Diego for Spring Break or a Summer Vacation?⠀⠀📍Let’s talk San Diego Zoo (and yes, I got off a plane yesterday, picked up Lydia and we spent the afternoon at the zoo…..it was LOVELY).⠀⠀A few things to help you plan visits to San Diego and the Zoo:⠀1️⃣ the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park are NOT close together. The Zoo is close to downtown, the Safari Park is about 25 miles north. I’d suggest one day at each. They’re totally unique and both worth a visit. The Safari Park is smaller, but has REALLY unique exhibits (Walkabout Australia is my favorite).⠀2️⃣ both have some really fun and unique dining experiences that you can reserve in advance: Albert’s at the Zoo is a FANCY and fun sit down option, and The Watering Hole at Kijamii Overlook at the Safari Park is great for happy hour or a fun lunch ⠀3️⃣ there are great kids play areas at both locations, the Wildlife Explorers Base Camp area at the San Diego Zoo is brand new and absolutely amazing⠀⠀✨ Now, a bonus tip. Undercover Tourist now has NATIONWIDE savings on over 500 attractions in 50 cities and up to 25% on tickets for theme parks, zoo, museums, aquariums, city tours, water parks, and movie tickets. And the deals they have for San Diego? AMAZING (I’m sharing details in my stories).⠀⠀@themeparkfrog #UncoverSavingsNationwide #ad
In high school, I wasn’t supposed to cross the b In high school, I wasn’t supposed to cross the bridge without permission.⠀⠀I grew up about 20 minutes from San Francisco, on the OTHER side of the Golden Gate Bridge. Yes, you know that opening scene in Full House where they’re driving across the bridge? I was on the other side of that. And one of MOST parents’ rules where I grew up? No going into the city without permission. Sorry mom and dad, it’s been long enough…..now I can disclose that we broke that rule constantly.⠀⠀San Francisco is my favorite city. It’s intimate and moody and filled with history and some of the best food in the world. It reminds me of childhood trips to the zoo and Golden Gate Park, it reminds me of my first apartment after college and my first serious relationship. It reminds me of 22 year old carefree nights with friends and milkshakes at Mels in high school and coffee in North Beach and nights in the Marin Headlands (the closest we were supposed to get to the bridge).⠀⠀So when I had the opportunity to spend 20 hours in my city by the Bay? I took it.⠀⠀Photo Diary:⠀1) nothing like a hotel room to yourself ⠀2) basically drove through a monsoon in San Diego yesterday to make it to the airport⠀3) through the fog? You can see the Golden Gate Bridge⠀4) SFO ⠀5) drove right through North Beach where my mom lived until she was 2, and texted her this photo of a church where she remembers going to weddings as a child⠀6) dinner with Dove, talking about the importance of diversity and representation in gaming avatars ⠀7 and 8) anyone else got a roblox fan in their house? Dove is changing the game (pun intended) and we love to see it.⠀⠀Have you been to San Francisco?
