Let’s talk reasonably priced bathing suits.  One of the retailers you guys requested the MOST when it came to bathing suits that wouldn’t break the bank? J Crew Factory (and they have a TON of new arrivals, so buckle up).  I have to be honest, I was a little apprehensive.  I wasn’t sure their suits would flatter a curvier body.  Well, I was 100 percent wrong.  These suits are some of my absolute favorites and they’re an amazing price point.  I love that that have all the style of regular J Crew, and the same quality.  So the verdict on J Crew Factory Bathing Suits? I’ll be investing in a lot more.  They’re classic styles I know I’ll wear for years to come, and oh so flattering!

A few tips for any bathing suits for a PEAR SHAPED BODY:

• you want to draw the eyes towards your narrower upper body….a ruffled neckline, a brighter or lighter color on top, or a great a fun cut on top will do the trick even on simple suits in solid colors
• find pieces that fit well and flatter your curves, you want to accentuate that small waist and midsection instead of hiding your body (no baggy tops)
• try different fabrics and patterns to see what feels best to you, I’m a fan of bright colors and stripes…..but you may like something different with your skin tone or body type

Ruffle One-Shoulder One-Piece Swimsuit (size large): I love love love this suit.  I shared it over on Instagram a couple days ago, and you guys went nuts for it.  It comes in a variety of colors and a new color blocked version with a deep v-neck with thick straps and a polka dots version (I’m obsessed).  It fits like a dream and is SUPER flattering on a pear shape.  That ruffle does a perfect job of drawing the eyes upward.  It’s also really cute with a pair of shorts pulled over for days at the boardwalk or walking around a pool party.

Printed Strapless One-Piece Swimsuit (size large): I definitely don’t own as many fun prints when it comes to swimsuits, but this cherry print? Just screams summer to me.  Isn’t it adorable? I love that the straps are detachable (I usually like at least a small strap on my bathing suits).  It fits really well, and held up well to a full day of beach play plus has a great amount of support.  If you’re looking for a whimsical fun printed swimsuit, this is a great one that will be a classic for years to come.
