Who Wears Heels Anymore? 5 Converse Outfit Ideas That Will Change Your Life by LA lifestyle blogger Carly from Lipgloss and Crayons

I love Converse sneakers (in fact my husband and I even wore them to our wedding).  And let's be honest……these days (mom life) I wear sneakers a lot more than I wear heels or wedges.  Between playdates and errands with a toddler in tow…….sneakers are just more practical.  99% of the time, I end up wearing sneakers all day.

One of my big goals this year is to get more wear out of pieces I already own…..so I challenged myself to find five different ways to wear the sneakers that I already own…….and it was WAY easier than I expected!  So I'm sharing with you guys 5 Converse outfit ideas you will love. (That justifies buying them in another color, right?)

5 Converse Outfit Ideas

  1. Traditional Jeans and a Tee: Jeans and a tee are always a simple outfit.  Add a pair of converse and a fun necklace or a baseball hat for extra flair.
  2. Swing Dress: I love a great swing dress (like the ones in these pictures)…..lately I've been pairing them with Converse for work (teaching requires comfortable shoes).
  3. Overalls and a Tank: Overalls are big this year (again).  Roll up the bottoms, add a tank, and Converse….and you've got a great casual outfit.
  4. Striped Tee and Black Denim: Looking for a little Parisian flair? Wear bright colored Converse with black jeans and a striped top.
  5. Circle Skirt and a Tee: For a little girly flair…….pair black converse with a circle skirt and basic tee.

I definitely think I can justify buying a pair of black chucks. I already own white, dark pink and dark red…how do you keep your white ones clean?

Since hanging my son I have traded all my cute heels for comfy shoes. Converse are my go too, and I can twin with my little man. I have to try using them with a flare dress. Thanks babe!

🚨 3 MISTAKES I MADE AT MY FIRST RUN DISNEY RACE 🚨 3 MISTAKES I MADE AT MY FIRST RUN DISNEY RACE 🚨⠀⠀🛑 Learn from my mistakes, 3 things you should NOT do if you’re running Disney races this year (trust me):⠀⠀1️⃣ Passing Go and Heading STRAIGHT to the parks: I realllllyyyyy wanted medal pictures. In my running outfit. So, instead of taking the buses straight from the finish line back to the hotel……we went to the Magic Kingdom. Took photos. Went to lunch. And felt…..terrible by about 1 pm. So take it from me, finish the race. Go to the hotel. Shower. Take a nap. THEN go to the parks. ⠀2️⃣ Breakfast: ok, mistake number 2. WHAT WE ATE. We booked a very cute, very on theme lunch. It was also very rich and creamy food. And…..was NOT IT after a race. Some of us may have gotten sick. It might have been the food. Or the lack of sleep. But, breakfast food (waffles / eggs) would have been a MUCH better choice. Now bonus points if you can guess where we ate. Love it, but….not for the first meal after the race.⠀3️⃣ Park Tickets: I spent WAY too much. I didn’t buy my park tickets in advance and paid full price. On a race weekend, you’ll probably want tickets for race day and the day after if not two days after. So….buy them NOW. While you can get a deal. ⠀⠀🎟️ Which leads to……when I say buy those park tickets now, I mean it. Big News! Undercover Tourist is offering their best ticket deal at BOTH Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort…for a VERY limited time, get Adult Theme Park Tickets at Child Prices. So whichever race you are running (or races in my case)……snag tickets NOW. I’m grabbing mine for Wine and Dine and Princess weekend……..⠀🎟️ want a link to the deal? Comment TICKETS PLEASE and I’ll send it your way! ⠀👟 Are you running a Disney Race this year? Which one? ⠀⠀🥇 And if you’re an experienced Run Disney person….what tips do YOU have for first timers?⠀⠀@themeparkfrog @disneyland #FrogHopDLR #rundisney

Two good witches and one black cat…….kick off Two good witches and one black cat…….kick off another year of family halloween costumes. The thing is, I tried to talk Lydia out of these costumes. It was a cooler day on Saturday and I kept telling her we could just wear jeans and the hats. Until, I realized…….we may not have that many Halloween seasons left of cute family costumes. So pink witches we were…..for the kickoff of Legoland’s Brick or Treat. We love Brick or Treat (this is our 3rd year doing it). It’s got some new activities this year, and I L-O-V-E that it’s included in your regular @legolandcalifornia ticket (bonus it ALSO will be included in Kids Free October here in SD).Our favs this year:- the wacky witch trail near the water park entrance- the zombie cheerleaders- halloween themed apple fries- the monster security checkpoint- Jam Out with the Rockers (this meet and greet is HYSTERICAL, scroll for the footage)Brick or Treat takes place on Saturdays in September and then Saturdays and SOME Sundays in October (dates are on the Legoland website).Welp, this makes it official. Summer has come to an end. Bring on the Halloween fun!#sponsored #LEGOLANDcalifornia
✨ Recent Microjoys: the….it’s starting to fe ✨ Recent Microjoys: the….it’s starting to feel like Fall edition ✨- running is a lot nicer when it’s 70 degrees- pumpkins have officially made their appearance at Trader Joe’s- Ube Lattes : a seriously stellar local find- planning makes my heart happy (once a lesson planning teacher, always a lesson planning teacher )- made it to Legoland for Brick or Treat (I’ll share more about this tomorrow) but this photo needed it’s moment - baked potatoes for dinner - Disneyland plans loading….lots of them (it’s been awhile): Oogie Boogie Bash, a friend date, and a couple fun trips…….all within the next week or two"Microjoys are a practice of uncovering joy and finding hope at any moment. They are accessible to everyone, despite all else. When we hone the ability to look for them, they are always available.
