This is IT!  Our favorite mice turned 90 this year, and the best part? The birthday celebrations will be continuing all year long!  Remember when we kicked off Mickey and Minnie’s 90th Birthdays this summer on our Disney Cruise?  Well, the parties have continued from the Mickey’s 90th television special to amazing brand collaborations.  And now??? Get Your Ears On is HERE at Disneyland, and there are SO many special activities to celebrate this milestone birthday!

Get Your Ears On: A Full Guide to Disneyland’s Celebration

What is Get Your Ears On?

Mickey and Minnie are celebrating their 90th birthdays, and Disneyland is throwing a MASSIVE party.  From amazing food to new floats in Mickey’s Soundsational Parade to a brand new projection show (Mickey’s Mix Magic)……this is the biggest celebration of our favorite mice in Disneyland history.  It’s a TON of fun, perfect for kids of all ages, and trust me…..you’re about to find some new music to add to your Disney favorite’s playlist.

Mickey’s Mix Magic

Get Your Ears On: One of the best things to do at Disneyland? Mickey's Mix Magic is a don't miss!

This all new nightly show is a DO NOT MISS.  It’s filled with music spun by DJ Mickey, amazing projections and stunning lights.  The newest Disney celebration song, “It’s a Good Time” is GUARANTEED to be a cult favorite (trust me, download it NOW…it was written and produced especially for Disney Parks to celebrate the World’s Biggest Mouse Party around the world).  The graphics are AMAZING and there are spectacular surprises at multiple points in the show.  Like all Disneyland projection shows, you can view this from Main Street, the It’s a Small World facade, and Rivers of America (on the water screens once they are done with refurbishment).  There are fireworks to accompany the show on certain nights.  This ADORABLE show is a perfect park day ending, and I promise you’ll find yourself dancing in the middle of Main Street.  We had the opportunity to watch Mickey’s Mix Magic from both Main Street and the It’s a Small World Facade.  It’s a totally different experience in both places.  If you are at the park for two nights, I definitely suggest trying to see it from both locations.  The graphics are especially easy to see from the It’s a Small World facade, but there is a magical surprise on Main Street (if you’ve got a Frozen fan in your family, I’d do Main Street).

Mickey’s Soundsational Parade

If you’ll be heading to the park on January 25th or after, this parade is a classic that you need to see.  While the parade is not new, there are TWO new floats and the opening? IS MAGICAL. It’s inspired by classic Mickey pull toys, and is the perfect way to celebrate Mickey’s 90th.  This parade is animated, fun and a perfect way to rest a little during a busy park day.   My biggest tip? I alway watch the parade from near the fire station on Main Street, I love it as a comfortable and easy spot to watch.  I got the chance to see the new floats, and they’re STUNNING.  Be sure to find a spot early so that you don’t miss the opening!

Get Your Ears on Food and Merchandise

Anyone else obsessed with Disneyland food and merchandise?  I saw the new offerings, and the Disneyland team truly knocked it out of the park (pun intended) this time.  From ears to dessert items to the BEST coffee mugs…….prepare your bank account, you’re going to want everything.

Get Your Ears On Food:

If you're a Disney food junkie, then this Share your Ears cheeseburger is a do not miss!
One of the best food options at Disneyland's Get Your Ears On Celebration? This celebration cake from Plaza Inn!

From Disneyland to Disney California Adventure to the Disneyland Hotel to the Grand Californian…..Get Your Ears On food offerings are everywhere, and they are NOT to be missed.  We tried a TON of the food offerings, and saw even more of them.  My favorites:

Bengal Barbecue’s Pad Thai Spring Roll (Adventureland): This delicious spring roll is filled with shrimp, rice noodles, veggies, and comes with a tasty hoisin dipping sauce. If you’re a fan of thai flavoring, this is a DO NOT MISS.

Pluto’s Dog House Bacon Mac & Cheese Footlong Hotdog (Toontown): Looking for an epic full meal? The Bacon Mac & Cheese Footlong Hotdog will DEFINITELY meet your needs…..it’s  topped with bacon mac and cheese and comes on an Italian roll….and looks INSANELY good.

Plaza Inn Celebration Cake (Main Street): We taste tested this cake and it’s INSANELY good.  The perfect combo of lemon and raspberry, and the colors are stunning (it will be available starting February 19th).

Smokejumpers’s Grill “Share Your Ears” Cheeseburger (Grizzly Peak): You’ve seen it all over the internet right? The “Share Your Ears” Cheeseburger looks EPIC.  It’s an Angus cheeseburger with slider ears.  Now don’t forget to snap a photo before you dig in!

Cozy Cone Motel Birthday Hat Macaron (Carsland): Did you see this one on my Instagram stories? Trust me, it’s going to be the biggest hit of the Get Your Ears on food offerings.  It tastes like cotton candy, and guess what’s inside it? CONFETTI SPRINKLES.  A legitimate birthday party in a cookie.

Disneyland Hotel Mickey’s Tea Party Celebration: This is number one my to do list with Lydia.  This adorable tea party is held at Steakhouse 55 from Jan. 19 until March 31.  There are two menus to choose from, and both have some ADORABLE dessert options.  Mickey’s Tea Party Celebration takes place on Saturdays and Sundays and every Thursday from 12:00 noon to 3:00pm.

Looking for the best Mickey ears? These donut ears are a part of the Get Your Ears On celebration at Disneyland!

Disney fans are all about the merchandise right? From ears to backpacks to spirit jerseys there are a TON of fun options to help you celebrate Mickey and Minnie.  There are four fun themes for merchandise, and I promise you’ll want items from each collection. The Park Food collection launched with those adorable donut ears we’re all obsessed with and….spoiler alert…..more to come this year!  We’ve all seen that stunning Potion Purple color (could you DIE for the backpack or what?)…..and it’s a HUGE part of Get Your Ears On.  From the Potion Purple backpack to the spirit jersey……it’s taking over the parks.  Mickey Through the Years celebrates the evolution of our favorite mouse (and I love love love the coffee mug options that are a part of this collection).  And the Minnie Rock the Dots collection with those colorful polka dots? IS ADORABLE.
