Disney+ was the buzz of the D23 Expo this year and with good reason. Disney plus is one of the biggest things to release in YEARS. It will change the way we all watch Disney movies and tv AND has some amazing original programming.
What Is Disney+?
Disney Plus is a new streaming service (launching on November 12, 2019) that will house Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic movies and shows. It will initially launch in the United States, Canada and the Netherlands. Customers will have the ability to download favorite movies and series, plus to see new exclusive series and films that will be released ONLY on Disney+.
Cost: Disney Plus will cost $6.99 a month, $69.99 per year
Where Will it Work: Disney Plus will stream to smart TVs, phones, laptops, tablets, and gaming consoles
Disney+ Programming
Within the first year, Disney Plus will will include 25 original series, 10 original films or specials, 500 films and 7,500 episodes of current and past TV shows. That’s a LOT!
Disney+ will be the ONLY place to stream Disney’s 2019 movie slate (Captain Marvel, Dumbo, Avengers: Endgame, Aladdin, Toy Story 4, The Lion King, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Frozen II and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker).

High School Musical: The Series – This scripted series is a modern take on the original, and shows a group of students preparing for their production of…..High School Musical.
The Mandalorian – A new addition to the Star Wars universe stories…… The Mandalorian takes place after the fall of the Empire and before the First Order rises. It show the story of a gunfighter in the furthest part of the galaxy.
Forky Asks a Question – This 10 short series shows our favorite meta character Forky asking questions about LIFE (ie What is Time) and will be (I’m sure) as funny as his first appearance in Toy Story 4.
Encore! – Reality TV at it’s FINEST. Kristen Bell is executive producing…….and brings a group of high school drama kids together to recreate their high school performance.
SparkShorts – This series from Pixar is designed to showcase new artists, and I can GUARANTEE we’ll see some amazing work……..
Marvel’s Hero Project – This special series is being created Marvel New Media and MaggieVision Productions……it showcases the positive change that is being created in local communities by young real life heroes.
The World According to Jeff Goldblum – This series from Jeff and National Geographic shows Jeff investigating real life items we all know and life (like ice cream) and sharing the history and science of them.
Lady and the Tramp – This live action remake of the original features rescue dogs and is sure to have us falling in love with the Tramp all over again.
