I know, I know……how can you narrow the choices down? The Best Food at Disneyland? How do you choose? From Disneyland to California Adventure……I wanted to share my top ten food choices. These are the tried and true, always available classic Disneyland food options. There are always speciality items available for festivals and holidays, and I love trying those……but this list? My favorites that you can buy year round. And definitely items you should put on your must eat list if you’re visiting from out of town. Whether you’re visiting Disneyland in the Rain during the cold months or looking for Places to Beat the Heat inside Disneyland during the hot months, these food items will be ready and available!
Best Food at Disneyland: Top 10 Items
Disneyland Beignets: Looking for the best beignets outside of New Orleans?!? Disneyland Beignets are amazing. They usually have a seasonal flavor available…..but I’m in love with traditional beignets (and they have the BEST dipping sauces). Available at: Mint Julep Bar, Cafe Orleans, Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen
Disneyland Turkey Legs: If you’re a meat eater, Disneyland Turkey Legs are a MUST eat (they’re also pretty inexpensive). They’re savory and a great contrast to all the sweet treats. Available at: Poultry Palace, Hot Foods near Central Plaza, Hot Foods at Hollywood Land, Ship to Shore Marketplace, Edelweiss Snacks
Dole Whip Disneyland: Have you even been on a REAL Disneyland trip without a Dole Whip? This soft serve treat is made without dairy and until recently only came in one flavor….pineapple. The original was served right outside the Enchanted Tiki Room only. But now? There are multiple options available at Tropical Hideaway: orange and raspberry along with traditional pineapple. Available at: Tiki Juice Bar, Tropical Hideaway, Disneyland Hotel (at the Coffee House)
Disneyland Churros: From traditional churros to the speciality flavors that are on a constant rotation…..Disneyland Churros are the BEST. They’re a perfect in between meals snack, and let’s be honest…..a requirement for a great Disneyland Food photo. I’m always partial to the classic churro flavor…..but the holiday flavors are fun too! Available at: Churros at Hollywood Land, Churros at small World Promenade, Churros near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Churros near Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Churros near Casey Jr. Circus Train, Churros near Goofy’s Sky School, Churros near Haunted Mansion, Churros near Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, Churros near Sleeping Beauty Castle, Churros near Splash Mountain, Churros near Town Square, Señor Buzz Churros, Willie’s Churros at Buena Vista Street
Mickey Ice Cream Bar: During any of the warmer months…….a Mickey Ice Cream Bar is a total requirement at Disneyland. You can grab one at a quick service cart in either park (yes, they’re available in grocery stores now…..but it’s still a million times more magical to eat them at the Happiest Place on Earth).
Mickey Waffles: Mickey Waffles are the perfect way to start any Disneyland day, and they’re a Disneyland Character Dining staple. They’re a part of the buffet at all character dining breakfasts, but are also available at almost all sit down breakfast locations (our personal favorite for non character dining is Carnation Cafe in Disneyland or Flo’s V8 Cafe in Disney California Adventure.
Mickey Pretzel: The best non-sweet snack? A Mickey Pretzel. Be warned, they’re HUGE! You can buy them at plenty of quick service stands in both parks but our favorite spot to grab one? Troubadour Tavern on the way into the Mickey and the Magical Map show. Bring a pretzel into the show with you, sit, eat and enjoy the music!
Disneyland Corn Dogs: If you love corn dogs, Disneyland has GREAT ones. They have traditional flavors, and then there is almost always a holiday or seasonal offering (absolutely worth trying). Our favorite spots to grab a Disneyland Corn Dog: the cart on Main Street in Disneyland or Corn Dog Castle in Disney California Adventure
Lobster Nachos: The Lobster Nachos at the Cove Bar in Disney California Adventure had a total cult following and with good reason, they were DELISH! When the Cove Bar and Ariel’s Grotto closed, people on the hunt for the Best Food at Disneyland had concerns….WHAT ABOUT THE NACHOS?!? When Lamplight Lounge opened in place of Ariel’s Grotto…..guess what was on the menu? Yup, the amazing Lobster Nachos. They’re still here, and they’re just as delish!
Disneyland Macaron Cookie: If you’re a macaron fan, then the Disneyland Macaron Cookie is a MUST try. During each holiday and festival, there are special macaron offerings. But my favorite? The Raspberry Rose Mickey Macaron at the Jolly Holiday Bakery on Main Street. It’s available year round and it’s amazing.
