Live Action Lilo And Stitch Review
Is it the same story?
The live action remake of Lilo and Stitch is focused on the same story as the original animated film. You’ll see the same characters and the same GENERAL plot as the movie follows Experiment 626 (an exiled alien) and Lilo (the girl he meets when he lands on Earth). The live action film definitely dives deeper in Lilo’s story and family history and we get more character development and background on almost everyone.
Disney’s Live Action Lilo and Stitch Running Time
The movie is 1 hour and 48 minutes. It’s fast paced and funny, and I think it’s a GREAT length for a family film. It has a nice pace, and is the younger kids in our screening were very engaged.
What is Disney’s Lilo and Stitch Rated? And is it scary?
Lilo and Stitch is rated PG for action, peril and thematic elements. I was surprised that it wasn’t rated G before seeing it, but I will say…….it’s the thematic elements. The movie isn’t scary at all. I do think it’s worth noting that there is more talk of Lilo and her older sister Nani losing their parents, along with some extensive discussions about foster care and the foster care system.

Our Family’s Reactions: Disney Lilo and Stitch Review
My Thoughts:
I LOVED THIS MOVIE! I’m a huge fan of the animated film, and this surpassed my expectations. The cast was stellar (Maia Kealoha seriously is the perfect Lilo). The development of characters and learning more about them really lends itself well to a live action. I love the time and thought they gave to developing Nani’s character (and love her outcome….no spoilers but it’s AWESOME). This may just be my favorite Disney live action remake.
Lydia’s Thoughts:
“It was a great movie, and it was interesting because they added things to the original story, enough to make it new and exciting. The acting was great and overall I loved it!”
Robbie’s Thoughts:
“I thought it was a fun homage to the original, and the perfect combo of CGI and live action.”

Lilo and Stitch Merchandise:
