The Best One Piece Bathing Suits Target Carries for A Pear Shaped Body
A few tips for any bathing suits for a pear shaped body:
- you want to draw the eyes upward, towards your neck and shoulder….a fun neckline, lace, a brighter color, and embellishments will do the trick
- find pieces that fit well and hug your curves, baggy suits or loose tops don’t flatter a pear shaped body, you want to accentuate that small waist and midsection
- try different fabrics to see what hangs best on YOU
Kona Sol is the newest swimsuit line from Target, and I was SUPER excited to try on a few of their pieces. The line is created to be figure flattering, and focuses on the idea that every body is a beach body ( I know, a collection after my own heart). It’s the collection that has been getting a ton of buzz on social media because the models GASP have stretch marks and the amazing team behind the advertising photos chose to not photoshop them out. I was so hoping that the pieces I tried would live up to the hype….spoiler alert…..they absolutely DID. Out of all the Target Womens bathing suits I’ve tried throughout the years, these are my favorite.
Shop the Kona Sol Line:
Women’s Bow Tie One Shoulder One Piece (size large): I love love love the bow detail on this suit. It’s adorable on anyone with wider hips and does a beautiful job of drawing the eyes upward. It has GREAT support, cup inserts and a clasp in the back. It’s perfect for a day at the beach with kids (everything will stay in place) and has decent booty coverage. If you’re looking for a cute black suit, this is gonna be your new favorite. I tried the large, and it was a LITTLE loose. I potentially could have squeezed into a medium, but I felt more comfortable in the larger size.
Women’s Crochet High Neck One Piece Swimsuit (size large): I mean, who doesn’t love a great crochet bathing suit? And this one, is a pretty great dupe for one of my favorite high end swim suits. It’s super comfortable on, has good support, and I love that the crochet gives it a little edge, while still being something I would wear at the beach or pool with Lydia. It has a clasp in the back, and stayed put really well. I found this one to be pretty true to size, I tried a large and it fit perfectly!
Have you tried any of the new One Piece Bathing Suits Target just released? What are your favs?
This eggplant suit look stunning on you!!

Love them both!! The crocheted one is my favorite though!!
I read a older post from you on your thoughts on wearing a bathing suit. I almost wept. I so get your nerves. I am 67 years old and the last time I was comfortabe wearing one I was 21 yrs old. A long time to live without resolving those issues, I would say.
You impressed me and I got my bathing suit on and just looked in the mirror. I realized that, while I am not a size 5 anymore, I am not bad! I kept wanting to see that little, cute girl in my bathing suit. That won’t be happening, that is for sure.
I am going to the Cape with my daughter and my 2 grandchildren on Monday and by gosh, I am wearing the bathing suit with pride. There will be NO hands placed strategically to cover my tummy. I was going to buy a cover up to bring but I changed my mind.
Thank you for what you said. You unlocked a key that I didn’t even know I had locked. You are amazing and I am grateful.
