Have you been watching the trailers for the latest Disney Plus docuseries? This review will tell you if the new Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a must watch for kids!
Here we are. If your household looks anything like ours……we’re hungry for new entertainment options. I’m scouring the Disney Plus releases each month, and love that they’re still rolling out new movies, shows, and docuseries. As new series were being announced, one caught my eye. Now you guys know we are HUGE Animal Kingdom fans (we even have a whole guide to the best rides at Animal Kingdom for families). The Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. A docuseries that promises an actual behind the scenes tour and look at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and The Seas with Nemo & Friends at EPCOT. And to top it off? The narrator? Our favorite snowman……Olaf himself, Josh Gad.
The details? This is an unscripted series. Think reality television, but with the ANIMALS as the main characters. It gives us a serious glimpse into the amazing experts who work behind the scenes at Animal Kingdom and allows us to learn more about the conservation efforts that are truly the heart of this Walt Disney World property (does it get any more magical than THAT?). There are eight episodes and each features a different animal focus and location.
I recently had the opportunity to participate in a REALLY cool press event, we got to witness a behind the scene chat about the making of this docuseries AND to preview all eight episodes.
Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Is It For Kids?
So. Is this for kids? Or more of an adult must watch?
Overall Feelings: If you love Animal Kingdom……this is going to be a binge watch it in one day type of show. I love love love that we get to know the humans who love and support the amazing animal residents of Animal Kingdom. We learn more about the conservation projects behind the scenes at the park, and it’s SO fun to see from this perspective. Now I can’t WAIT to head back to Animal Kingdom and took take a closer look at what we can see from the guest perspective!
What Ages Is It Appropriate For?: Episodes are fairly short (about 35 minutes) and the visuals? STUNNING. Who doesn’t love learning about wild animal care and seeing their habitats. I think this is an all ages show, younger kids will probably enjoy seeing the animals and move on….while older kids an adults will be much more interested in animal behavior.
My verdict? Definitely a must see. This is perfect for a family distance learning break, and bonus if you’ve visited the park in person!
Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom movie is streaming on Disney+ starting September 25!
