Let's talk Beddy's.  Since we shared on our Instagram stories that we were trying out this new zippable bedding…..we got a LOT of feedback.  So now that we've tested it out? Our full Beddy's review (and bonus, we got a discount code for y'all)!

Thank you to Beddy's for gifting us Lydia's sheets so that we could try them out for ourselves…..

So, we've been having some issues with Lydia's bed.  To be specific, it was her bedding.  Some of the issues? Ours.  And some of the issues? Hers.  Her old bedding? Kept slipping off the mattress.  So night after night, she'd wake up in tangled mess of sheets.  Then it was all of our problems.  And her issue? It was really hard to make her bed.  Now to be fair, Lydia's a pretty small kid and she has a queen sized bed.  That's a little hard to make on your own when you can barely reach both sides.  When we moved to our current house, we decided to have her use what had been our queen sized bed from our guest room in her room.  We don't have that many out of town guests, and with all of our parents? It's one who visits at a time.  Lydia on the other hand uses that bed every night, and the mattress was way better quality.  Plus, as she gets older….she'll want a larger bed instead of the smaller bed she had in her princess themed room at our old house. All of that made sense, and we got her new sheets….but….they just weren't working.

Now, full disclosure….when it comes to Beddy's….the internet made me do it.  I saw so many people sharing these zippable sheets. OVER AND OVER.  And everyone seemed to be raving about them.  I had to see if they were worth the hype.  I actually saw a LOT of discussion about how great Beddy's are for bunk beds….but I was curious if I'd love them as much for a single bed.  I did a bit of research, because….let's be honest these are definitely an investment.  And spoiler, now I can see why.

Beddy's Review: Is It Worth the Money

Ok, so overall? THIS BEDDING IS WORTH EVERY PENNY.  You know who was even a bigger skeptic than me? Robbie.  I tried to explain how Beddy's worked before the arrived and he sort of rolled his eyes.

“What do you mean it's all one piece? Like a giant sleeping bag?”

Zippable Sheets: Are Beddy's worth the price tag?

I mean, yes it is one piece.  And no, it's not like a sleeping bag.  The entire bedding is like a fitted sheet, except that the top layers zip on.  So it stays tight on your mattress (that's right, Lydia hasn't complained about her sheets coming loose) and? My favorite part? It's easy to MAKE THE BED.  The first morning, Lydia woke us up at 6 am by screaming……

Zippable Sheets: Are Beddy's worth the price tag?

“I DID IT! I zipped my own bed up and it looks FANCY!”

A few details: the fabric is super soft, and very high quality. The top has a minky lining so it's definitely warm enough for cooler months and feels cozy as can be.  Beddy's sheets also come in all sizes….so if you're thinking these are only for kids' beds? Try again.  Yes, Lydia's bed is a very youthful color and design set.  She picked it herself and she loves it.  But there are also more mature palettes and patterns….and I'm about to order a set for our room.  Because…..if I'm being honest….I'm terrible at making the bed.

FAQs: What You Wanted To Know

I wanted to be sure to answer some of the questions you guys asked in Instagram Stories about Beddy's.

But how do you WASH the bedding? I got this question a LOT in stories, and I wanted to wash our set multiple times before I weighed in.  Remember how the top part of the bedding zips? Well it zips all the way around.  So to wash? I removed the entire bedding set at once, then unzipped the top section ALL THE WAY.  I washed the two parts unattached, then dried and zipped them back together before putting our Beddy's set back on the bed.

Beddy's: Are these zippable sheets worth the money? This is a full review (and there's a discount code)!

Do you REALLY think it's worth the money?  Honestly, I was a skeptic.  But, yes I really do.  The fabric is high quality, the zipper is well made, and it works PERFECTLY.  Lydia's room looks so much better with a made bed and she's REALLY proud of the fact that she can do it herself (attention IEP / 504 and OT moms…..this will CHANGE YOUR KIDS life…..yes, they can do this on their own).

Can Lydia ACTUALLY make the bed on her own? Yes, yes she can.  We put the sheets onto the bed after washing.  But she can make the bed each morning.  It takes under a minute (think 15 seconds or less) and she doesn't need reminding or prompting.  My type a child? She loves how nice her room looks.  So she makes the bed each and every morning when she wakes up and feels oh so proud of herself.

Are they cotton? Beddy's has both Minky versions and All Cotton versions.  You can choose either.

Beddy's Review Comments: What Some of YOU Said

One thing that was so interesting to me……I had NO IDEA the amount of Beddy's superfans there are out there.  When I first shared on Instagram Stories that we were trying them out…..the messages from y'all poured in.  Man, YOU GUYS LOVE THIS BEDDING.  I asked a few of you for permission to share your thoughts on your Beddy's experience.

Wondering if Beddy's are worth the price? This review tells all!

“We love Beddy's.  I bought it for my then 5 year old and after 2 weeks bought one for our bed too.  Great for the winter so covers won't get kicked off.”

“My friend has these for all four of her girls and loves them!”

“We just got my youngest his first Beddy's…..with his many disabilities this what I thought would be best to give him responsibility and pride in working up to be able to make his own bed.  Currently I zip it to 1 inch until close and he works hard sometimes with assistance to close it the rest of the way.”  (as a teacher, I'm IN LOVE WITH THIS….way to empower him mom!)

“The Beddy's are the best! My kids love them and I got some for my mom who struggles with arthritis.  She said it was so much easier for her to make her bed after washing.”

“We have had Beddy's for 4 years.  My daughter has Down Syndrome and Autism and she has been able to make her bed at 4.  Washes great!”

I mean, can you ask for better feedback? The verdict? We love our Beddy's.  And I'm excited to give you guys a chance to get a set too.  The team at Beddy's gave me a discount code that will give you 15% off ANYTHING you buy (with no expiration date).

Have you ever attended a luau? This was the first Have you ever attended a luau? This was the first I’ve EVER attended (fun fact, when we came to Aulani 5 years ago we were supposed to and it was rained out). The night before on this trip, we had some storms and I thought….oh no, round 2? But……the Hawaiian sun did it’s job and the weather for this was PERFECT. To be honest, this was not cheap. I was a little apprehensive about whether I would feel it was worth the money but…..WOW was it ever. The food was amazing, there were really fun activities for kids at the beginning and the cultural performances were phenomenal. All three of us (including not wanting to spend even more $$$ vacation Robbie) left raving about the experience. Aulani wins for us so far on this trip that I’m so glad I booked in advance (highly suggest doing this as far out from your trip dates as you can)- the luau (try night 2 or 3 of your trip so you’ve had time to adjust to the time change)- Aunty’s Beach House (this is still at limited capacity so you DO need to book in advance, I booked a session for days 2, day 3, and day 4 and we’ve enjoyed having a bit of time each day)- character dining and prix fix dinner at Makahiki (we are one big meal each vacation day people, so DON’T book these the same day, I’d do character breakfast early on your first full day….you’ll wake up early with the time change and the dinner on whichever night you AREN’T doing the luau)Already dreaming of booking another trip here.

We LOVED the character breakfast (so many unique local food offerings) and the Disney Team treated us to the prix fix dinner our first night here….I can’t even begin to explain what a lovely experience it was. Killer cocktails, a GREAT kids’ menu and I had the best Ahi of my life. Now swipe all the way to end for an appearance from Vacation Robbie. We love to see it.And place your votes…..pick ONE treat.

That year involved one major teacher strike in my district, many many many jobs and gigs for both of us, minimal time off together, a whole lot of unknowns and a whole lot of stress. The Disney and Aulani team probably had no idea that they were giving us the gift of much needed peaceful time together when they invited us on a trip to this magical place. A trip that….to be honest, was beyond our means at the time. We cherished every moment. A lot has happened since then. A move, buying a house, seeing those years of hard work pay off. And now….we did it. We’re back. Lazy river here we come. TLDR? If you’re in the thick of it, I see you. We’ve been there. Family, Welcome Home……we did it. Aulani for the week.

When training for my race, I didn’t stretch or warm up enough most days and….here we are.Lesson learned. I’m 4 weeks post race (do not recommend running a 10k on a pulled muscle) and I’m……almost better. I’m learning to stretch and walk and to take better care of myself so that I can start running again REALLY soon (we’re almost there I think). For now? I’m doing recovery walks and trying to strengthen my leg. And trying to make sure I get enough protein. When I talked about Built Bars on my stories, a LOTTTTT of you raced about their Puffs. Yup, I get it. They’re AMAZING. I’ve been bringing them along on my walks (and gluten free friends….they have some great options for us).Have you ever pulled a muscle? What was recovery like for you?#youGOTTAtrythis #BUILTProtein #BUILT #BUILTbar partner

The Zoo is close to downtown, the Safari Park is about 25 miles north. I’d suggest one day at each. They’re totally unique and both worth a visit. The Safari Park is smaller, but has REALLY unique exhibits (Walkabout Australia is my favorite).⠀2️⃣ both have some really fun and unique dining experiences that you can reserve in advance: Albert’s at the Zoo is a FANCY and fun sit down option, and The Watering Hole at Kijamii Overlook at the Safari Park is great for happy hour or a fun lunch ⠀3️⃣ there are great kids play areas at both locations, the Wildlife Explorers Base Camp area at the San Diego Zoo is brand new and absolutely amazing⠀⠀✨ Now, a bonus tip. Undercover Tourist now has NATIONWIDE savings on over 500 attractions in 50 cities and up to 25% on tickets for theme parks, zoo, museums, aquariums, city tours, water parks, and movie tickets. And the deals they have for San Diego? AMAZING (I’m sharing details in my stories).⠀⠀@themeparkfrog #UncoverSavingsNationwide #ad
