Let’s talk about the best bike shorts.  I’m comparing three different styles to determine the best for us pear shaped ladies! I can’t believe I’m even writing this post.  When bike shorts came back into style, I rolled my eyes.  HARD.  If I wore them the first time, I wasn’t going to wear them the second time.  Well, let’s go ahead and file that under things I should have said.  Because I’m obsessed.  Now let’s be clear, we’re talking about bike shorts for STYLE.  Not function for actual cycling.

Best Bike Shorts: A Comparison

Before I started my actual try on, I did a little online research to find candidates for the best bike shorts.  These particular styles all came highly recommended.  I wanted to compare some higher and lower price point options, and I was on the hunt for brands with a decent size range.  Each of these? Fit the bill and are great for those of us with pear shaped body types.

Aerie Real Me Wrap Bike Short

These? FIT LIKE A DREAM.  They’re super comfortable and I just ordered them in another color.  They’re also a killer price.  I wear a size large in these, and highly recommend if you’re looking for a comfy and soft pair of biker shorts. They’ve also got a great higher waist and I love the v shaped cut.

Aerie Chill High Waisted Bike Short

Looking for a pair of bargain bike shorts that are a more classic cut (aka if the v shaped top of the real me wrap bike shorts aren’t for you)? These are a GREAT option.  The palm color bike shorts were the first pair I bought in the fall, and I wear them ALL the time.  They’re a little bit shorter (I also wear a large in these)….you could easily size up for a longer option.

Spanx Faux Leather Bike Short

I mean, can you go wrong with faux leather? The internet told me to size up in these, and I’m glad I did.  So mine are an extra large and they fit PERFECTLY.  These definitely have some light compression and shaping qualities, so I think if you’re on the hunt for bike shorts to wear on a dressier occasion, they’d be your best best (they also come in a more traditional fabric if you’re not into the faux leather).  Honestly? They’re worth the price.  They fit like a dream and I love how they look on, plus bonus that they’re a little bit longer.
