Pixar Short Films are always something special. These snippets of magic from the Pixar team are a ton of fun to watch, and my personal favorite? The short films that give us a little more insight into the Pixar characters we know and love.
22 vs Earth: The Latest Pixar Short
If you loved Soul (and we all did right?) then 22 vs Earth is a must watch. 22 vs Earth takes place BEFORE Soul, and gives us more insight into 22 and her entire outlook. And this time? We get to see her relationships with OTHER Souls in the Great Before. I promise, it’s adorable and has some great perspective.
22 vs Earth is directed by Kevin Nolting, who started at Pixar Studios in 2000 as an editor for Finding Nemo. He worked on the Cars franchise, Wall-E, and was the lead editor for Up and Inside Out. 22 vs Earth is Kevin’s directorial debut, and he did an amazing job.
I had the opportunity to chat with Kevin about the making of the film, and any hidden easter eggs (hint, he said to look for camera angles from one of his favorite films Apocalypse Now).
22 vs Earth is a perfect 5 minute watch, and has already become one of my favorite Pixar Short Films.
