This post was sponsored by Champions for Kids + The Motherhood.I get asked a lot of questions about teaching this time of year…..it usually coincides with the Back to School displays going up. One of the questions I get asked the most? How can people help. Unless you have school aged kids, you’re probably a little out of the loop when it comes to school supplies and classroom needs.
Recently I learned about an amazing program Champions for Kids has put together to meet the needs of children in our local communities. Champions for Kids is encouraging families and community groups to get together, and collect supplies for local students. They suggest that you donate supplies to local classrooms, tutoring centers, schools or shelters. Another option? Champions for Kids’ SIMPLE Giving program! Visit your participating Walmart store between July 7 – August 1 and look for the Simple Giving donation bin. Choose school supplies then donate them immediately to help children in your local schools!
I wanted to put together a sample for y’all, of a great Back to School gift bag for teachers. Want to really start the year off right? Have your student walk one of these in on the first day of school. Every one of these items was on sale, if you’re looking for school supplies……now is the time! Teachers tend to buy a lot of supplies for their own classrooms…..so class sets of anything are a LIFESAVER. Seriously, class sets of pencils or erasers are always welcome……so are markers or cleaning supplies.
