California Love and Threads Giveaway

threads6_edited-1

Yes, I see the irony that I've been wearing this bracelet stack from Threads and showing my California Love during our trip to South Carolina.  This bracelet has been all over the state, and was the perfect accessory for our drive from Columbia to Charleston yesterday.  Drives in California just DON'T look like this.  We passed through stunning, small towns…..and some of the most beautiful country roads I've ever seen. Talk about the beauty of the South! Threads is one of my favorite companies that gives back.  Threads is a business run by The Shine Project, and is designed to empower at risk youth.  As a teacher in an at risk community, this one hits close to home for me.  The Shine Project employs at risk youth at fair wages, and as they make Threads' adorable jewelry they are able to support themselves through school.  Awesome, right? This bracelet stack has become a daily wear for me….and they're giving away a bracelet stack to one of you! Can't wait to see if you win? Use the code LIPGLOSS10 for 10% off any Threads purchase, and don't forget to use #bloggersgivingback when you share any products that give back on instagram or twitter! / shirt / vest / skirt / booties c /o JustFab / bracelet stack c / o The … [Read more...]

Younique 3D Fiber Lashes

younique2

One of my favorite things about blogging is getting to discover new products.  I've been lusting after eyelash extensions for awhile now….but to be honest…..finding hours to go to an appointment? Not realistic.  When Ashley contacted me to test out Younique's Moonstruck 3d Fiber Lashes…..I was wary.  A mascara that looks as good as eyelash extensions? We'll see.   Younique's 3d Fiber Lashes are AMAZING!  These fiber lashes attach to your regular lashes creating the image of volume and length just like lash extensions.  They lasted all day, which I loved.  And my favorite part? I could adjust my lashes by changing the amount of fibers I applied.  Date night? Tons.  Running errands, just a little extra volume.  This is a total staple in my makeup collection now!   Interested in trying out Younique's 3d Fiber Lashes for yourself? Ashley is giving a set away to one of you! Don't forget to enter! a Rafflecopter giveaway This product was provided for review purposes, but the opinions written are all mine. … [Read more...]

They're perfect for running around my husband's alma mater…….and I thought I was looking pretty young today until a student called me Ma'am.  To which hubby and I cracked up, when did I become Ma'am???? Vintage Necklace + Wit & Whim

TGIF! Currently……... Reading……way too many articles for work, I put together my first presentation as part of my new position at school….and it went really well! Now I'm already brainstorming new information I want to utilize! I'm on the search for a few vacation reads for Spring Break…..suggestions? Eating…….thai food. YUM.  At one point during my pregnancy I craved Thai food every day.  After that I got so sick of it…..I haven't had it in at least six months.  It's apparently back in the rotation. Drinking……water, water, water.  I'm trying to drink 100 ounces of water a day.  Tricks? I've been adding lemon. Listening to…….the baby monitor……..I hear nothing but white noise as our little one sleeps soundly. Looking forward to……..our trip to see hubby's family in South Carolina….we fly out Saturday morning, wish us luck!!! Obsessed with…….Wit & Whim.  Wit & Whim is an adorable online boutique with a physical storefront based in Port Washington, New York.  They carry a PERFECT collection of accessories, home decor pieces, and novelties…..and the best part? They give 100% of their profits to a new charity each month.  I mean, amazing!  When they sent over this stunning vintage necklace, I was smitten……and I've … [Read more...]

/ Mocha Muffins / Strawberry and Tropical Fruit Muffins / Dairy Free Blackberry Muffins / 2 Ingredient Pumpkin Muffins / Blueberry Moon Pies / Peanut Butter and Jelly Moon Pies / I'm way too excited about Easter brunch…….and am already planning what to make.  Since our church does a HUGE service at the Hollywood Bowl (a gigantic outdoor amphitheater here in the City of Angels), we usually potluck with a bunch of our friends.  Anything we make needs to be portable and easy to eat.  Thus, muffins.  Every year I've made a different type.  Here are a few of my favs, and a few new ones I'm considering for this year! Pink Cheeks

pink blush

/ Makeup Forever HD Blush 210 / Benefit Dandelion / Tarte Tipsy / NARS Mata Hari / Now that winter is over, my makeup bag is slowly going through an evolution.  No more bold lips, I'm ready for light and pretty colors.  Spring sun adds a natural glow, so I always feel like I need less makeup this time of year.  One of my favorite looks? A simple eye with a pink cheek.  It screams sunshine, bike rides, and picnics. I apparently have a bit more of an obsession with pink cheeks than I thought, considering I've tested out all of these! Makeup Forever HD Blush 210: This is my current favorite.  It's the perfect middle of the road pink.  It lightens up my face, and lasts ALL day.  Plus, it looks stellar in photos! Benefit Dandelion: This pretty, pale pink is perfect with a brighter eyeshadow or lip.  It has an airy, ethereal feel……perfect for floaty sundresses and sandals. Tarte Tipsy: I went through a cheek stain obsession last year.  I loved how this pretty pink stain blended perfectly…..leaving the illusion of naturally flushed cheeks. Nars Mata Hari: Looking for a bold pink cheek? This is my go to! For evening, this is the perfect pink cheek….paired with a nude eye and black liner.  It pumps the simple day pink cheek up, adds a … [Read more...]

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Is anyone else wondering how it's baseball season already? Seriously. I know I say this alot, but being back at work.....the weeks are going by faster than I can count.  I blink, and it's Friday again.  I guess this is good, right? Being busy will make summer vacation arrive before I know it!  Side note, there has been a serious debate on Instagram about our dear darling daughter wearing a (gasp) Dodgers tee shirt.  To clarify, I was born in the Bay Area....and am a diehard Giants fan.  However, the shirt was a gift.  So, if anyone wants to send a cute baby Giants tee our way.......let me know! Otherwise, we are ordering one ASAP! Speaking of baseball tees, this one is pretty cute too....isn't it? One of my favorite online shops, Deloom sent it over and I've been wearing it nonstop.  While it was mostly on rotation with more casual attire.....it was fun to dress it up this weekend! Deloom is giving one reader a $50 credit to their shop.....don't forget to enter! / baseball tee c / o Deloom / skirt / baseball hat (sold out) / necklace c / o Just Fab / shoes / a Rafflecopter giveaway … [Read more...]

Baby’s First Easter Basket + Funday Monday

/ Trend-Lab Character Hooded Towel, Bunny / Nested Pink Easter Baskets /  Pat the Bunny (Touch and Feel Book) / Lamaze Baby Toy, Giggle Bunny Ball / Mud Pie Baby-Girls Newborn Bunny Ear Hb, Pink, One Size /    And just like that……it's already Easter.  I feel like it was just Christmas……how did this happen? One of the best things about having our little one is getting to start our own family traditions.  We'll be flying back from our trip to visit family the night before Easter, so I thought it was a good idea to get Lydia's first Easter Basket prepared in advance.  She's obviously too young for candy, so I decided to prepare a basket of bunny themed items that she'll enjoy all year! Are you preparing Easter Baskets this year? What will you put in them? Welcome to Funday Monday!
