Let’s talk Valentine’s Day Clothes. From daytime casual outfits to Galentine’s Day to a Date night, this polka dot print skirt is the perfect piece to base all your Valentine’s Day outfits around.
Can you believe it’s time to plan for Valentine’s Day Clothes already? I feel like we literally just took the Christmas tree down and packed up the matching family holiday pajamas we wore on Christmas morning…..but here we are. It’s time to start planning for Valentine’s Day Printables, class parties and clothes.
Now that Lydia is in full blown kindergarten, Valentine’s Day isn’t a day….it’s an entire season. We’ve got a class party, I have a couple fun girls’ nights and (miracle) we may even squeeze a date night in.
Here’s the deal, as much as I’d love to be in the position to invest in tons and tons of Valentine’s Day Clothes…..that isn’t realistic. So I decided to buy one new staple piece (this red polka dot skirt for under thirty dollars) and to use it for all our Valentine’s Day plans. From class parties to date night, I think…..I’ve got it covered.
Valentine’s Day Clothes: Day, Girls’ Night and Date Night
It was really fun to put these different looks together. They’re flattering on a pear shaped body, they’re comfortable to wear, and they’re not a million dollars.

Valentine’s Day Clothes for Daytime: This is the first year I’ll be able to visit Lydia’s class for her Valentine’s Day Party (in fact, I’m in charge of it). While I was teaching, I was in my own classroom on Valentine’s Day. Lydia actually has a teacher work day ON Valentine’s Day this year, so her class party will be the day before. My goal? Comfortable clothes for daytime. I paired the red polka dot skirt with a simple white tee and red slip on sneakers. It’s cute, it’s the right color scheme and it’s perfect for wearing all day long.
Valentine’s Day Clothes for Girls’ Night: I can’t wait to do a couple fun Girls’ events for Valentine’s Day. I already had a Valentine’s Day luncheon complete with one of my favorite pink drinks recipes(we were all so crazed in February that we did it early) with a few of my new San Diego friends, and I even have a girls’ weekend planned up in LA. For those events, I wanted something fun and hip but also something I could actually stand to wear all night (ha). I paired the polka dot skirt with a white tee and a pleather jacket and block heels.
Valentine’s Day Clothes for Date Night: It’s been a number of years since we were able to squeeze a date night in for Valentine’s Day….but this year? We swear we’re making it happen (even if it’s a few days early or late). Our plans? A nice dinner, maybe a live concert. For date night? I want to go FULL ON red and pink. I mean, it’s Valentine’s Day right? I paired an off the shoulder top with my polka dot skirt and my favorite heels….plus I love this pearl hair clip for a little romantic touch.
What do you have planned for Valentine’s Day Clothes or events? Will you be doing a date night? A girls’ night? Or more casual day plans?
I love that skirt on you! It is so cute!
