Valentine’s Day Clothes: Day, Girls’ Night and Date Night

Let's talk Valentine's Day Clothes.  From daytime casual outfits to Galentine's Day to a Date night, this polka dot print skirt is the perfect piece to base all your Valentine's Day outfits around.

Valentine's Day Clothes: Isn't this polka dot skirt adorable? It's perfect for casual outfits and date night outfits!

Can you believe it's time to plan for Valentine's Day Clothes already?  I feel like we literally just took the Christmas tree down and packed up the matching family holiday pajamas we wore on Christmas morning…..but here we are.  It's time to start planning for Valentine's Day Printables, class parties and clothes.

Now that Lydia is in full blown kindergarten, Valentine's Day isn't a day….it's an entire season.  We've got a class party, I have a couple fun girls' nights and (miracle) we may even squeeze a date night in.

Here's the deal, as much as I'd love to be in the position to invest in tons and tons of Valentine's Day Clothes…..that isn't realistic.  So I decided to buy one new staple piece (this red polka dot skirt for under thirty dollars) and to use it for all our Valentine's Day plans.  From class parties to date night, I think…..I've got it covered.

Valentine's Day Clothes: Day, Girls' Night and Date Night

It was really fun to put these different looks together.  They're flattering on a pear shaped body, they're comfortable to wear, and they're not a million dollars.

On the hunt for a polka dot skirt? This one is perfect for Valentine's Day clothes options or spring casual outfits!

Valentine's Day Clothes for Daytime: This is the first year I'll be able to visit Lydia's class for her Valentine's Day Party (in fact, I'm in charge of it).  While I was teaching, I was in my own classroom on Valentine's Day.  Lydia actually has a teacher work day ON Valentine's Day this year, so her class party will be the day before.  My goal? Comfortable clothes for daytime.  I paired the red polka dot skirt with a simple white tee and red slip on sneakers.  It's cute, it's the right color scheme and it's perfect for wearing all day long.

Want to know how to style a polka dot skirt? This is the perfect casual spring outfit!

Valentine's Day Clothes for Girls' Night: I can't wait to do a couple fun Girls' events for Valentine's Day.  I already had a Valentine's Day luncheon complete with one of my favorite pink drinks recipes(we were all so crazed in February that we did it early) with a few of my new San Diego friends, and I even have a girls' weekend planned up in LA.  For those events, I wanted something fun and hip but also something I could actually stand to wear all night (ha).   I paired the polka dot skirt with a white tee and a pleather jacket and block heels.

Date night outfits? This polka dot skirt is perfect with Valentine's Day Clothes or simple pieces!

Valentine's Day Clothes for Date Night: It's been a number of years since we were able to squeeze a date night in for Valentine's Day….but this year? We swear we're making it happen (even if it's a few days early or late).  Our plans? A nice dinner, maybe a live concert.  For date night?  I want to go FULL ON red and pink.  I mean, it's Valentine's Day right? I paired an off the shoulder top with my polka dot skirt and my favorite heels….plus I love this pearl hair clip for a little romantic touch.

What do you have planned for Valentine's Day Clothes or events? Will you be doing a date night? A girls' night? Or more casual day plans?

Even after I felt comfortable wearing a suit…..I didn’t feel comfortable EATING in a suit. I felt like, who was I? With curves and rolls on display to have the audacity to eat french fries or an ice cream cone. Here’s to having the audacity this summer. whatever that looks like for YOU.
🚗 Road Trips……Which one are you?⠀ ⠀ Thi 🚗 Road Trips……Which one are you?⠀⠀This weekend we flew to Sacramento and then road tripped north to see my family up in the mountains. It was so much fun to spend time together, and it reminded me….we are ALL one of these people on a toad trip.⠀⠀Bonus points to the VERY nice road trip vehicle we had…..the team at @MazdaUSA lent us a 2023 Mazda CX-50 Turbo Premium Plus and it was AMAZING (it even had a wireless charging dock for our phones). It made my snack stops even better (yup, we tried Dutch Bros for the first time and OMG we need them to expand to more Southern California locations ASAP).⠀⠀So, which are person are YOU on a road trip? ⠀⠀#familytravel #drivemazda
….and also why are we commenting negatively abou ….and also why are we commenting negatively about people’s appearances in 2023?Double also: if the worst thing people on the interwebs can say about me is that they don’t like my smile…..then I feel pretty good about what type of person I’ve chosen to be.
💕Because we all want our kids to soar………⠀⠀So fitting right? Elvis named this plane after his daughter. And all I’ve been thinking about throughout our St Jude experience…..is how certain things truly bond all of us. Certain things cross economic barriers and continent and language differences. Parenthood is one of those. It’s a universal experience. And I think whether we are parents or role models or aunties or friends……we all know what it’s like to dream and hope on behalf of a child in your life.⠀⠀In 2012, when I was newly married and not yet a parent one of my students was diagnosed with cancer. Without revealing details about her or her family, I think it’s important to recognize that economic barriers prevented what should have been an earlier diagnosis. It was one of many times I was reminded during my time with the amazing humans in my classrooms that…..we do NOT all have the same access or experiences in life. That student and her family were one of the miracle stories. In fact, when she came back to class, she complained about missing soccer games at recess and fell right back in with the rest in a way that to this day brings joyful tears to my eyes. ⠀⠀I said this on my stories during my trip, but…..I didn’t realize until this experience that families at St Jude NEVER receive a bill. Ever. No matter what. That this access gives families hope during their darkest days.⠀⠀I’m going to be teaming up with St. Jude to do a fun challenge that will hopefully inspire y’all to support them too. Let’s just say that…..for this scared of heights, refuses to take my feet off the ground theme park girlie……I’m going to making the ultimate sacrifices.⠀⠀What rides would you want to see me go on in support of St Jude? (be kind, I’m literally TERRIFIED of any and all rides that have a height limit). You know they REALLY moved me if I’m even thinking of doing this! ⠀⠀@stjude #stjudeambassador
