Are you looking for a great scalloped swim suit? I’m rounding up the best ones for under $125!Funny story about taking these bathing suit pictures. First of all, yes we took them in JANUARY. And I understand that in most other parts of the country, it’s freezing. It happened to be an 80 degree day in Los Angeles, and I thought……let’s give those bathing suits a spin. This new scalloped swim suit was one I picked up for a couple of spring break trips we have planned, and I was chomping at the bit to give it a test drive (side note, last minute bathing suit shopping pretty much always ends in tears for me…..so now when I see a great swim suit I buy it and save until needed).
So, on a sunny day in January I headed to Santa Monica to a public beach and pool area. By the time I got there it was filled with families also enjoying that warm weather. Now, I understand that I rolled up to the pool with a photographer. And that may look ridiculous. But, the interaction I had with another mother left me sort of lost in thought. We were at the pool for MAYBE 45 minutes total. On the side where we weren’t disrupting anyone. And I GET that it may look weird to be having someone take pictures of you in a bathing suit. Especially when you are clearly not model size. Who do I think am?
Well, here’s what got to me. The SIDE EYE I got from a couple of moms. I’m sure they thought I looked ridiculous. Who did I think was? Why in the world would some random lady need these pictures? And the thing I noticed? These same women? Were hiding in coverups and shorts. Is there a connection? If we’re uncomfortable with our own bodies are we more likely to criticize and judge others?
Until very recently, I was that mom hiding in a cover up at the pool with her daughter. And I wonder if that slanted my view of other women and how comfortable THEY felt? I do think they’re connected. Complimenting other women? With a smile, a comment, a thumbs up……guess what that does? It helps us to start complimenting ourselves. So my challenge to y’all (and myself)…..even if YOU aren’t ready to flaunt it in a bathing suit at the pool or beach? Compliment someone who is. I promise it will take you one step closer to being proud of your own body in a bathing suit.

Now can we talk about this scalloped swim suit? A great scalloped bathing suit is one of my favorite looks on a pear shape body…..because that pretty scallop cut? Draws the eyes upward, which is ideal for a pear shape. From simple two pieces to a great one piece with that scallop top……a scalloped swim suit is totally on trend and super flattering. Does it get any better?

Are you as in love with this scalloped swim suit as I am? Don’t forget to pin this so that you remember it come bathing suit season!
The reason I clicked on your Pinterest post is because your thighs are close friends and your body does not look like the typical size 4 posting pics in a swimsuit. I’m also comfortable in a swimsuit (at a size 14), granted I want it to have plenty of tummy control! I absolutely love your post, You have a great shape and I adore that suit on you!!
aw thank you Carrie!
I love, love, LOVE these photos and I think you look FABULOUS!
