Avengers fans……ASSEMBLE! If you love Hawkeye and Marvel, then you know what is coming…..this is a full review of the new Disney+ series.

Are you ready? This has been a BIG year for Avengers fans.  First? We got to finally open Avengers Campus.  Then we got Shang Chi and the Loki series. And now?? Hawkeye is about to fly onto Disney+.  And yes, I’ve seen the first two episodes.  And what was I watching to see? I wanted to know if you had to be an epic fan to watch the series. Did you need to watch all the movies first?  Or is Hawkeye a stand alone series.  Can ANYONE watch this?

Is Hawkeye on Disney Plus a Stand Alone Watch?

I’ve become a Marvel fan in the last year or so.  Before Avengers campus opened, Robbie and I watched….EVERY SINGLE MOVIE (in story order of course) and it’s totally changed my perspective on any new Marvel release.  I love the epic storytelling and how interwoven the plots tend to be.  BUT, there was a time when I didn’t have as much background knowledge and it made it hard to jump into the Marvel universe.

So my question as I watched the first two episodes of Hawkeye…..if you’re not an epic Marvel fan…..will you enjoy the series? Short answer YES.   I can’t say it loud enough.  Loki fans don’t come for me…..I’m going to go on record to say this is the BEST series yet.

I’ve watched the first two episodes of Hawkeye on Disney+ and I can tell you, epic fans and new to Marvel Universe viewers alike will LOVE this series.  If you’re an epic fan…. this is NEXT level.  You’ll love the references, the nuances, the details.  But new to it all?  This is an opportunity to fall in LOVE with some pretty amazing characters.   I will say, pay very CLOSE attention to the first two episodes, especially if you aren’t AS familiar with the storyline.  They’ll help you to establish some timelines and to understand what is coming.

I can promise that the first thing you’ll want to do after watching the Hawkeye series?  Is to go back and see more of the backstory.  I’d start with Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers: Endgame (both are on my list to rewatch this week).

But for now? Get your Disney+ account ready, because Hawkeye will be waiting for you on November 24th!
