To pose or not to pose…..that is the question, right? We’ve been sharing some of our favorite ideas about what to wear in family photos and how to plan for them. We’ve talked about location, wardrobe, and now….let’s talk about what to do at the actual shoot!
So, if you’ve got little ones…..what’s the likelihood of everyone looking at the camera and smiling at the same time? Slim to none, right? My attitude? Go with it. A great photographer will capture genuine moments and smiles…..and they’ll be priceless. Let your kids run around. Play with them. Pick a location that will be attractive to THEM. It’s way more fun, and less stressful than trying to get perfectly posed pictures.
Side note, I picked these outfits specifically to work with this location. Since I knew that we were shooting against busy, colorful backgrounds…..we wore some of our favorite grey and neutral pieces from Cotton On. Robbie’s shirt, my dress, and Lydia’s dress? Cute photos! I personally love unposed photos. The photo of you guys with your little girl waving is precious! When I take pictures at family parties, I like to take the photo then make them laugh and snap another. The second one is always so much better!
