Spring Outfits and Summer Outfits: looking for the BEST jumpsuit for a pear shaped body in time for warmer weather? I found a STUNNING option (and bonus, it’s ethically made)!
Thank you to ABLE for partnering with us on this post about The Best Summer Jumpsuit for a Pear Shaped Body.
Can we talk bare arms? I rarely wear tank tops or sleeveless items, and honestly……I blame one of my oldest and dearest friends. We all have that body part that we are uncomfortable with, and hers? Her arms. Before we lived together during our single years here in LA, it had never even occurred to me to be worried about my arms. My hips? Thighs (pear shaped body issues, right)? Those, I worried about all the time. But my arms? Not so much. After years of living together, I swear….we picked up each other’s insecurities.
It’s left me wondering……do we still pick up each other’s insecurities? I’ve talked a lot about body positivity being important to me because of Lydia. I want her to grow up with a good relationship with her own body. I want her to treat her body with respect, love and compassion. It’s made me really work on my OWN relationship with my thighs, hips, and yup even my arms.
My point? I would have passed this amazing orange jumpsuit over just because it was sleeveless. Guaranteed. And I’m so glad I didn’t. It may be my favorite spring outfits staple item.

The Best Summer Jumpsuit for a Pear Shaped Body
Ok, let’s talk about this summer jumpsuit. I’m so glad I took the plunge, because it’s SUPER flattering on a pear shaped body. Most jumpsuits tend to be fitted in the hips and thighs, and not the ideal for a wider on the bottom girl. This one? Cut perfectly. From the simple top to the flared legs, it’s perfect for balancing out my shape and I’m obsessed with the color (it does come in a basic black if you’d prefer). I tend to wear between a medium and a large, and I sized UP. I wanted it to be a little looser, and the large is PERFECT for that.
From dressing up to dressing down……I’ve worn this summer jumpsuit a million different ways already. This outfit? With the ADORABLE block heels from ABLE? Was perfect for a brunch with my girlfriends last week. Then when I took Lydia to a birthday party later in the day? I switched those heels out for flat sandals, and added a jean jacket in case it got chilly.
Besides the fact that this jumpsuit fits like a dream (and that these heels filled in a major hole in my shoe wardrobe)…..I love WHAT these pieces do for the world. Both my jumpsuit and these adorable shoes are by one of my favorite ethical fashion companies, ABLE. Yup, the same company that made my killer light denim jeans.
“ABLE is a lifestyle brand focused on ending generational poverty by working with women who have often overcome extraordinary circumstances. We manufacture directly in the communities we wish to impact, both locally and globally, creating jobs and ending the cycle of charity dependency.”
ABLE works with women who need support, but creating jobs in safe and supportive environments. Those amazing women help to build beautiful clothes, jewelry, shoes and accessories (ABLE’s leather bags are INSANELY stylish). So we get great clothes, and we get to give back at the same time.
A few of my favorite ABLE items (I’ve been wearing my customized cuff bracelet nonstop, hint…..it’s a GREAT and affordable Mother’s Day gift):
So what do you think? Are you sold on this summer jumpsuit?
I’ve been looking at that jumpsuit but wasn’t sure if it would work! So fun!!
