Looking for easy science experiments you can do at home? This printable calendar is filled with 21 days of easy science experiments using household items!
Are you doing a little more school at home than usual right now? Us too. And one of our favorite things has been to do easy science experiments with items we already have on hand.
We've made science a part of our at home learning schedule, and it's honestly one of my favorite parts of the day.
21 Days of Easy Science Experiments You Can Do At Home
Each of these easy science experiments is something you can do at home with little prep. I'd suggest doing these in the afternoon to break up a day indoors. Want to add on some writing? Order a simple journal, and have your child record their observations after each easy science experiment (they can draw or write depending on their literacy level).
A few tips for at home science experiments:
- be flexible, this is supposed to be fun
- ask prompting questions: “what do you THINK will happen?” “what did you notice” “what do you think now?”
- if your kids LOVE a certain experiment, let them do it again……
- remind them that scientists explore and innovate……do they want to try something a different way? with different materials? to replace with something you have in home? That's FINE! It's the science way!
- these can be easily done with younger kids and some guidance or can be totally independent activities for older kids (if you're looking for older kid and independent work, print the calendar and let THEM set up the experiments each day…..they can even set them up for their younger siblings)
