If you follow along with my Instagram Stories, then you know last week I got some pretty awesome insider information. I visited the Disney Animation Lot for a special press conference from the team over at D23. They gave us a TON of information about D23 Memberships, special events for members, and they totally spilled the beans on a ton of exciting info regarding the 2019 D23 Expo (trust me, if you love Disney…..this is MUST KNOW information).
What is D23 and How Do I Join?
D23 is the official Disney Fan Club. It was established in 2009 (so, yes…..we are approaching the 10 year anniversary) as a way to connect Disney fans with the magic of Disney. D23 holds special events for it’s members, creates unique members only merchandise, sends out an amazing quarterly magazine, but most importantly…..it gives us Disney fans a chance to connect with each other. From the Parks to local events nationwide to chances to meet Disney legends…..Disney’s Official Fan Club creates magic year round. But D23’s BIGGEST event? Every other year they hold the Expo here in Anaheim.

What Can I Expect at the D23 2019 Expo?
The D23 Expo will be three days of the largest Disney fan event IN THE WORLD. It will be held from August 23-25, 2019 in Anaheim and will celebrate everything Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar. The Expo is filled with live events, celebrity appearances, panels, presentations, sneak peeks, and immersive experiences…..including the popular Mousequerade costume contest (Actress Yvette Nicole Brown and Fashion Designer Ashley Eckstein will both return as judges), the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony, and the 2019 Design Challenge (this year’s theme will be the Haunted Mansion — I can’t WAIT).

How Do I Get Tickets?
GET READY! Tickets to the 2019 Expo go on sale August 23rd. You guys asked on Instagram: NO, you do not have to be a D23 member to attend the Expo…..however, the tickets are a little less expensive for members (plus Gold and Gold Family Members will also get special benefits throughout the weekend including exclusive discounts and offers at select Disney retail and partner locations; a commemorative gift; and limited priority queueing for Hall and the Expo Arena). After hearing all the details, we upgraded our D23 membership to a Family Gold Membership……I wanted to get all the bells and whistles during the D23 Expo!

What OTHER Events Are Coming Up for D23 Members?
While the D23 Expo is obviously SUPER exciting…..there are a ton of other fun events coming up that I can’t WAIT to participate in. And the best part? Not all of them are here in LA. Yes, you can participate in D23 events all over the country!
As a HUGE Nightmare Before Christmas family (Lydia’s favorite movie)…..I am OVER THE MOON excited about D23’s Spooktacular Fanniversary. There will be screenings and fun events all over the country for D23 members.
One of the other events I’m looking forward to? D23 Days of Christmas! There are fun events here in Burbank, but also virtual events and in person events all over the country.
