Makeup Tutorial: 5 minute face

This 5 Minute Face shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser.

All opinions are mine alone.

#WalgreensBeauty #CollectiveBiasLifestyle blogger Carly from Lipgloss and Crayons features a quick and easy 5 minute face makeup tutorial. You can get this done and be out the door quickly!Disclaimer, this makeup tutorial comes from real life experience with poor nap time management……..

How Lydia's morning nap normally looks (in my mind):

She's asleep. Nope, she's not.  Ok, now she's REALLY asleep.  I think.  Better wait a few minutes just in case.  Alright, one more cup of coffee.  Make that two. I'll check a few emails, then hop in the shower.  Oh no, it's been 30 minutes! Check twitter. Check instagram.  Shower……victory! All done.  Oh wait, she'll be up in 5 minutes……..I need SOME makeup, don't I?

Moms, you can relate right? Ladies who have to run out the door for work, you too? Yup, we've all had those days where time gets away from you…..and you find yourself with 5 minutes to do your makeup.  After way too many days of skipping makeup all together, I finally found a 5 minute face routine that makes me feel pretty and pulled together.  The best part? It's all drugstore makeup available at Walgreen's.  A full face at a decent price point? SCORE!
Lifestyle blogger Carly from Lipgloss and Crayons features a quick and easy 5 minute face makeup tutorial. You can get this done and be out the door quickly! After quite a few 5 minute experiments…..I figured out the makeup products that provide maximum impact in minimum time.  I love how soft and glowy this look is…..perfect for summer!

The most important steps in a 5 minute face? Prep + Conceal, Enhance and Finish.

Prepping and concealing with primer, bb cream and a concealer creates the perfect canvas…..and hides those dark circles.  A cream blush and eyebrow gel come next…….it's amazing what a well defined brow and flushed cheek will do for a plain face! To finish off a speedy primping session? A gloss that lasts ALL day and great mascara.

Lifestyle blogger Carly from Lipgloss and Crayons features a quick and easy 5 minute face makeup tutorial. You can get this done and be out the door quickly!A few hints for speed: keep your products out and ready to go and apply all with your fingers….I didn't use a single brush for this!

Lifestyle blogger Carly from Lipgloss and Crayons features a quick and easy 5 minute face makeup tutorial. You can get this done and be out the door quickly! See? 5 minutes….and you're ready to go!

Wow. First of all, you are so beautiful. That hair and those freckles — I’m dying! So cool.

Anywho — I love shopping at Walgreens for beauty supplies because they carried some cruelty-free brands that I enjoy. In particular, I love trying new products from the “Say Yes!” line. Currently, I use a Grapefruit CC cream they sell and it is amazing! It still lets my freckles shine through too!

If you are interested in switching to cruelty-free products, I’d recommend checking out that product line. It is great for newbies to the cruelty-free movement like me!

When I need to wear makeup for big occasions I get it professionally done. However, five minute makeup sounds perfect for me. I love the lip gloss…this is one thing that I always wear.

That year involved one major teacher strike in my district, many many many jobs and gigs for both of us, minimal time off together, a whole lot of unknowns and a whole lot of stress. The Disney and Aulani team probably had no idea that they were giving us the gift of much needed peaceful time together when they invited us on a trip to this magical place. A trip that….to be honest, was beyond our means at the time. We cherished every moment. A lot has happened since then. A move, buying a house, seeing those years of hard work pay off. When training for my race, I didn’t stretch or warm up enough most days and….here we are.Lesson learned. I’m 4 weeks post race (do not recommend running a 10k on a pulled muscle) and I’m……almost better. I’m learning to stretch and walk and to take better care of myself so that I can start running again REALLY soon (we’re almost there I think). For now? I’m doing recovery walks and trying to strengthen my leg. And trying to make sure I get enough protein. When I talked about Built Bars on my stories, a LOTTTTT of you raced about their Puffs.
