Want to start baking with kids in your family? These cookbooks are a great place to start!

Lately, Lydia has been enjoying helping in the kitchen.Ā  I realized, I really need to take advantage of having a willing helper when it comes to meal preparation.Ā  So baking with kids? Is going to be a regular part of our at home learning schedule from here on out.Ā  Why not right? I stocked up on kids baking tools and we’re ready to go!

These are some of the cookbooks we are eyeing and a few we already own, I ordered a few new ones so we can get started and will share as we use them!

Baking with Kids: Cookbooks

The Complete Cookbook for Young Chefs:Ā  This cookbook from America’s Test Kitchen looks very extensive and has SUPER high ratings.Ā  It’s one of the ones we just ordered!

The Disney Princess Cookbook:Ā  We own and love the Disney Princess Cookbook, if you have a princess fan in your house, it’s a must buy.Ā  Super cute and easy to follow! You can even make a movie night out of it after each recipe!

Disney: The Simple Family Cookbook: We just ordered the paperback version of this cookbook.Ā  Each recipe looks super easy to make, and it’s a great price!

Good Housekeeping: Kids Bake:Ā If you are specifically looking for some new baking recipes, this is a GREAT option!

Good Housekeeping: Kids Cook: Our goal is to start doing more cooking (we’ve already done a fair amount of baking in the last few months) so this was a must order for me!

Better Homes and Gardens New Junior Cookbook: Better Homes and Gardens is a classic, and this cookbook is just that.Ā  If you’re starting out baking with kids for the first time…..it’s a great jumping off point.

American Girl: Around the World Cookbook: This cookbook is a partnership between American Girl and Williams Sonoma and has over 50 different recipes from different countries.Ā  I love that we can delve into different cultures and traditions by trying their food!

Cook Me a Story: A treasury of stories and recipes inspired by classic fairy tales: If you’ve got a kid who is into the classic fairy tales, this is a PERFECT cookbook.Ā  The teacher in me? Wants to suggest reading each book and then preparing a recipe to go along with it as a hands on activity.

Everybody Cooks Rice: This book was one of my favorites when I taught first grade.Ā  It tells the story of a diverse neighborhood filled with families cooking dinner.Ā  As the children explore, they visit each house and try rice recipes from a variety of countries and cultures.Ā  The recipes for each are included in the book.

United Tastes of America: An Atlas of Food Facts & Recipes from Every State!: We had this bucket list goal that we were hoping to start this summer of road tripping to every state in the US.Ā  Well, that’s not EXACTLY happening right now…..but we can start in our kitchen.Ā  It’s a great way to explore different flavors and cuisines!

Complete Children’s Cookbook: Delicious Step-by-Step Recipes for Young Cook: This cookbook has GREAT photographs that make baking with kids especially easy (the step by step pictures are AWESOME).

Have you tried baking with kids lately? What cookbooks are your favs?
