Looking for Things to Do In LA to Beat The Heat? These five suggestions will leave you cool, calm, and collected!

Los Angeles Blogger Carly Anderson shares Things to Do In LA to Beat The Heat......

It's HOT in LA.  Yesterday was 116 degrees, and frankly….everyone is freaking out.  We're near the ocean, and most of us are just NOT accustomed to this type of heat.  As I hide in my house preparing for another day of record high temperatures, I'm making a quick list of things to do in LA to beat the heat.

Things to Do In LA to Beat The Heat

Hit the Beach: The beach is always cool.  On super hot days we head to Malibu where the temperatures never rise THAT high (I share more about my favorite beaches HERE).

Discovery Cube LA: The Discovery Cube is one of my favorite places to visit during SUPER hot days.  It has interactive exhibits, and a great cafe.  They currently have a really fun dinosaur exhibit that even includes a dino dig (you can read more about Discovery Cube HERE ).

Skirball Center: The Skirball Center is located smack dab in the middle of the City of Angels, and has a ton of indoor activities.  From the Jim Henson exhibit to the Noah's Ark interactive space….it's perfect for young kids to blow off some steam in the AC.

Au Fudge Playdate: While I'd been to Au Fudge for events, I hadn't visited for a regular play date until recently.  This adorable play space has amazing food and coffee and a TON of activities for kids (bonus, they have nannies to set up art projects etc)!

El Capitan Theatre: The El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood is a total EXPERIENCE.  From the organ player to the fancy seats, it's a ton of fun (and they're currently playing Incredibles 2).

Burke Williams: Looking for a grown up activity? I visited my local Burke Williams spa last week and it was beat the heat HEAVEN.  They've got a ton of specials going on.  I booked a massage, and then stayed to enjoy the spa.  It was amazingly relaxing, and I came home cool as a cucumber.

Frodo, meet our friends. 🐾💕We adopted Frodo last week through the Rescue House here in San Diego (highly recommend for anyone local)…..and he’s already become the king of the house.💕I had a TON of pets growing up (cats, a dog, rabbits, lizards, fish, chickens)…..and I’m so excited that Lydia will get to have this experience.🐾Do you have a pet?
💕 Double tap if you wish you were swimming righ 💕 Double tap if you wish you were swimming right now……..’Tis the season. When we bought our house, I envisioned Lydia having all her friends over to swim….and this summer? We are FINALLY getting to have all the pool party play dates we’d hoped for.I just added this bucket game to our pool toys and OMG it’s so much fun (Robbie and I have used it more than any of the kids, ha!)While we picked up the game, we also did a water check. Just an FYI, Leslie’s also offers “always-free” water testing at all their locations. You bring in a sample of your water to any Leslie’s location for your free test, and they can help you come up with a plan to treat any issues.Well…..who wants to come over for a pool party?!?<LesliesPoolPartner>#Leslies #WeKnowPools #LesliesPoolSupplies, #LesliesPoolCare #LetsPool @lesliespoolcare
📢My Dimpled Thighs have Entered the Chat. Phew 📢My Dimpled Thighs have Entered the Chat.Phew. There was a time when I would have never shared ANY of these…..because…….cellulite. Dimples. Veins. 📚It’s…..COMING!⠀ ⠀ 🌙’Twas the nigh 📚It’s…..COMING!⠀⠀🌙’Twas the night before back to school and……..⠀⠀🗓Well? Do you have any special back to school traditions in your family?⠀⠀🛏<zulily partner> One of our favorites? We always pick out brand new pjs for First Day of School Eve. I did this as a teacher too, as silly as it seems, it’s a fun way to celebrate and…..we all need new comfy pjs a few times a year anyways!⠀⠀🛍Want to start your own Back to School pjs tradition? These pjs are a KILLER deal in Zulily’s Back to School Shop that we helped curate (as in……less than the cost of a movie ticket which you never see for 100% cotton pjs).⠀⠀❤️I’m sharing a link in stories, and will be sharing a few more Back to School tradition ideas throughout the week!⠀⠀@zulily #zulilyfinds
