Looking for Things to Do In LA to Beat The Heat? These five suggestions will leave you cool, calm, and collected!
It's HOT in LA. Yesterday was 116 degrees, and frankly….everyone is freaking out. We're near the ocean, and most of us are just NOT accustomed to this type of heat. As I hide in my house preparing for another day of record high temperatures, I'm making a quick list of things to do in LA to beat the heat.
Things to Do In LA to Beat The Heat
Hit the Beach: The beach is always cool. On super hot days we head to Malibu where the temperatures never rise THAT high (I share more about my favorite beaches HERE).
Discovery Cube LA: The Discovery Cube is one of my favorite places to visit during SUPER hot days. It has interactive exhibits, and a great cafe. They currently have a really fun dinosaur exhibit that even includes a dino dig (you can read more about Discovery Cube HERE ).
Skirball Center: The Skirball Center is located smack dab in the middle of the City of Angels, and has a ton of indoor activities. From the Jim Henson exhibit to the Noah's Ark interactive space….it's perfect for young kids to blow off some steam in the AC.
Au Fudge Playdate: While I'd been to Au Fudge for events, I hadn't visited for a regular play date until recently. This adorable play space has amazing food and coffee and a TON of activities for kids (bonus, they have nannies to set up art projects etc)!
El Capitan Theatre: The El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood is a total EXPERIENCE. From the organ player to the fancy seats, it's a ton of fun (and they're currently playing Incredibles 2).
Burke Williams: Looking for a grown up activity? I visited my local Burke Williams spa last week and it was beat the heat HEAVEN. They've got a ton of specials going on. I booked a massage, and then stayed to enjoy the spa. It was amazingly relaxing, and I came home cool as a cucumber.
