Now that we're a week into summer vacation, we're finally jumping into our summer bucket list.  This list of 11 family activities is perfect for completing over a summer break!

Summer Bucket List: This list of 11 family activities is perfect for completing over a summer break!<don't forget to pin this for summer planning!>

Yup, we're in the thick of summer.  Between family vacations, beach days, and summer holidays…..we're in total heaven.  But I already feel like it's flying by.  We sat down this weekend, and made our own family summer bucket list.  These are 11 activities we are promising to complete before the first day of school.

Summer Bucket List: This list of 11 family activities is perfect for completing over a summer break!

Summer Bucket List

  1. Jump in the Ocean: our plan? To hit up at least three new beaches and jump into the waves as a family at each of them.
  2. Summer Blockbuster: every summer, there's one or two GREAT kids' movies that come up.  We're letting Lydia pick her favs for a couple family movie dates (Cars 3 was her first pick….and it was ADORABLE).
  3. Homemade Ice Cream: We're busting our ice cream maker out of storage, and making at least three flavors.
  4. Hikes: Hiking is something we haven't done a ton of, and we plan to change it this summer.  Our goal is to visit at least two new National Parks and to get some great hikes in.
  5. Library Reading Club: we joined the reading club at our neighborhood library.  We'll be doing a family book each day, and charting our reading time.  They have super fun activities once we complete our chart!
  6. Taco Taste Testing: our goal? To find the best tacos in Los Angeles.  We have a list of 12 spots to try…..and can't wait to visit them all.
  7. Pick Our Own Produce: summer produce is the BEST.  We can't wait to hit up local farms and farmstands to pick our own fruits and vegetables.
  8. Water Park: Can you believe we've NEVER taken Lydia to a water park? This summer we're starting swimming lessons AND hitting up our local water park as often as possible.
  9. Popsicles: We always make our own popsicles, and can't WAIT to try a couple new recipes this summer.
  10. Give Back: Summer is a ROUGH time to be without a home.  We plan to visit our local homeless shelter to donate sunscreen, water bottles, and mini fans.
  11. Get Outside: After a year of saying we would….we FINALLY built an outdoor play area at home.  It's been a ton of fun to utilize already.  We have an adorable new sandbox, a great water table, chairs for the adults, a sunshade to keep things comfortable…..and it looks great because we added a new outdoor rug…….it may be our favorite place in our home!

I’ve gotta be honest, flash cards were just not cutting it for us. ⠀⠀So I dove into her @Amazon Fire Kids Tablet and found some really great multiplication games that are included in her @Amazonkids Plus Membership. ⠀⠀Reminder, an Amazon Kids+ membership is included for the first year when you buy any Amazon kids device, then costs just $4.99 a month after that. It includes ebooks, audiobooks, games and movies (I’ve talked a TON about the books and audiobooks that are included, so I’m excited to share a math⠀option).⠀⠀Our current favorite multiplication games:⠀⠀1️⃣ Multiplication Memorizer⠀⠀2️⃣ Multiplication Kids⠀⠀3️⃣ Pinkfong Fun Times⠀⠀Now, anyone in your house? The way I laughed out loud when I spotted this lit The way I laughed out loud when I spotted this little area during our day at Knott’s Berry Farm……. (teachers, you get it right?!?)I mean, HAD TO TAKE A PHOTO (or 20). This weekend was the start of Peanuts Celebration at Knott’s Berry Farm and we spent a day immersed in all things Snoopy. From the rides in Camp Snoopy to the adorable new shows to the ACTUAL PIGS in Pigpen’s Pig Pen there was so much to do…..I’m so glad that Knott’s invited us to check it all out! Now, who is YOUR favorite Peanuts character? (Lydia’s is Sally, she’s actually playing her in a school play TODAY — the timing, right?) @knottsberryfarm #knottspeanutscelebration
✨ Happy 100th Disney!✨⠀ ⠀ 💜The people a ✨ Happy 100th Disney!✨⠀⠀💜The people are the magic. Yesterday was filled with friends and food and fun and feet (sore ones after walking around from dawn to way past dusk)…….and as Lydia and I tucked ourselves into bed last night……I felt so much gratitude. Our happy place has brought so much joy into our lives and so many people that enrich each moment.⠀⠀✨The Disney 100 Celebration will be happening ALL YEAR, and I feel like we still have so much to see and do.⠀⠀💜Favorite Moments and Experiences from our day one of Disney 100:⠀🚂riding Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad: I avoided ALLLLLL spoilers (there are some in this carousel btw), and had seen NONE of the attraction until we stepped into the queue…. it was absolutely adorable and I can’t WAIT to ride it again, plus when we exited the ride…..some of the team that created it were at the exit and seeing their smiles? ABSOLUTE DISNEY MAGIC.⠀🌅seeing the sun rise over the castle bright and early⠀💕running into friends every 5 minutes, it felt like a giant reunion⠀👗characters in their costumes, not going to lie….we didn’t wait in lines for them….they were length, but we gave a wave as we walked by and they looked stunning⠀⠀✨When is your next Disney trip???
