This post about parenting hacks is written in partnership with Procter & Gamble.
Let's be real, mom life is exhausting. Anyone else feel like they have little to no downtime? Lately, I've been focusing on finding simple life hacks. Little adjustments I can make to save time and feel more relaxed. I wanted to share 7 mom hacks with you, and I hope they give you back a little bit of time!
Mom Life Hacks
Toy Pick Up: One of my least favorite moments of the day used to be right after my daughter's bedtime. I would emerge from her room, exhausted and ready to sit on the couch for a few minutes of peace and quiet. What would I find? Toys. Everywhere. So want to know what we do NOW? We have a clean up song. When it goes on (about ten minutes before our bath and bedtime routine begins), we BOTH pick up all her toys. Simple, but man does it make a difference!
Leaving the House Bag: Diapers, wipes, snacks, sunscreen, books, cell phone charger, anyone else run around the house like a chicken with your head cut off before going anywhere? Right. Me neither. Finally I decided to pack a leaving the house bag. What does that mean? I keep a bag filled with ALL the supplies we need to leave the house (it switches based on seasonal need). This is NOT my diaper bag. It's a second set of all those must haves. Why? So that in a bind, I grab the Leaving the House bag, and go. No more digging through the diaper bag to see if it's prepared!
Sorting Baskets Near the Front Door: Anyone else feel like you always walk into the house with a million things in your hands? Mail, packages, notes from school, keys, groceries. Somehow, I end up losing half my items. And the rest? Make a big mess on our kitchen counter aka the dumping ground. Now? We have baskets for EVERYTHING. A mail basket, a basket for each of our keys, a basket for letters from school. I haven't lost my keys in a month!
Easy Prep Meals: Some nights, I just can't quite spend the time I planned making dinner. Lately? It seems like most nights. So we invested in an Instant Pot, and I've been prepping meals on SUNDAYS. That way, all I have to do during the week? Is to throw items into the instant pot and turn it on. Way better than ordering take out!
Accessory Organization: I'm a little embarrassed to admit how long I used to spend each morning untangling necklaces or looking for matching earrings. And somehow, my stress level went through the roof as I was trying to just GET OUT THE DOOR. I finally invested in organizing my dresser area. A few necklace stands and a ceramic egg carton for rings and earrings? Made a HUGE difference (and they look cute)! Small Workouts: Finding time to workout, is a challenge. Instead of giving up altogether, on busy days I plan to do two or three short workouts. Five minutes of jogging place or three minutes of sit ups. It's certainly better than nothing, and helps get my energy up! DUO Showers: Sometimes, I feel like showers are a race. I have SO much to do, and I don't take more than five minutes for myself. What does this mean? I pretty much scrub in a rush, and move on. Gone are the days of leisurely twenty minute showers with body oils and fancy scrubs. So my new favorite product? Proctor & Gamble's DUO. This easy to use product cleans AND exfoliates (one action for each side). It comes in three amazing scents (Olay is my favorite) and makes it EASY for me to exfoliate during those five minute showers. And bonus? It won't break the bank AND it's available at my favorite place on earth (Target).
So mamas, what are YOUR favorite mom life hacks???
