Can you believe we are thinking about cold weather already? Today I'm sharing 10 indoor toddler activities for cold weather days (trust me, you'll thank me for these)!
Hello fall. Hello cool weather. Thanks to instagram, I can see that cold weather is hitting all over the country. Here? We're NOT in the 90s anymore. And to me? That's a step in the right direction. I grew up in Northern California, where it is MUCH cooler than Los Angeles. Back home? It's sweater weather. Back home? Kids are bundling up and playing indoors. We are still visiting our local farm stand, and enjoy the outdoors….but, it WILL come to an end. It WILL happen here in Lala land, but we probably have a month or so to go before true cold weather hits.

Playdough Station: Somehow, playdough keeps toddlers busy for hours. Set up a station with homemade playdough, cookie cutters, and a small rolling pin……
Classic Movie Drive In: One of my favorite at home activities? Have your kiddo turn an old cardboard box into a car….then drive it up to your television to watch a movie!
Book Nook: We are in the process of building a book nook for Lydia. This small space will be decorated with comfy pillows and baskets of books for her to enjoy.
Baking: Cold weather means it's cookie season! Pull out an old favorite recipe….toddlers will love rolling out and cutting the dough.
Coloring Pages: Toddlers LOVE to color, and mine? Loves coloring pages with familiar characters. I keep a stack ready, and am constantly adding to our library (you can access our library of coloring pages HERE)
Sensory Play: Sensory play is VERY important for toddlers. Easy ways to set it up? A tray full of shaving cream. Let them “fingerpaint” with the shaving cream. Bonus? It's SUPER easy to clean up.
Window Decorating: Love seeing all those cute windows decorated for the holidays? Tempra paint. Yup, it washes right off. Let your kiddos paint snowflakes and winter scenes ALL over the windows. Trust me, they'll be EXCITED.
Dress Up: We are in the process of building a dress up corner. Toddlers can dress up for HOURS, it allows them to create and develop extensions of their own play.
Magnet Play: Set up a magnet station on your fridge. How else are you supposed to get meals cooked?
One of my favorite parts of cold weather? Getting to dress for it. Today the mamas of the Mamas and Minis Style Collective are showing you four ways to wear winter sweaters!Want to see how my fellow mamas styled their sweaters?
