I’m a more than a little excited today…..I’m finally introducing something I’ve been cooking up (pun intended) for awhile now. When I started this blog, I really wanted to connect with other women. As my life has evolved…..I’ve become a part of a very special community, moms. It’s amazing how, no matter our locations, lifestyles, beliefs……we all connect on a basic level. As I’ve started to share more and more of my life as a mom, I realized I wasn’t the only one craving community. So, here we are…….the first of a number of mom features I’m passionate about! Welcome to Lipgloss and Crayons Toddler Meals!
Any moms of toddlers or older kids are probably already smiling in solidarity. Toddlers and eating? It’s quite the experience. I’m ALWAYS asking other moms for meal ideas. I can’t believe such a small person has such BIG opinions about what she eats. As I started to share Lydia’s meals on Instagram…..I realized that other moms were craving meal ideas too. The response has been exciting.
So, toddler moms……join in! This is interactive (and there are some really fun prizes are involved)! #LCToddlermeals is open for business. Use the hashtag to share what your little one is eating. I’ll be sharing my favorites on Instagram as we go……..and every time you join in…..you’ll get bonus entries to our weekly raffle! I’ve teamed up with some pretty awesome brands who love toddler meals as much as I do. Every week, one #LCToddlermeals participate will win a prize………sponsors are joining for two weeks or a month at a time. So, come back here to rack up your entries……and in two weeks in a new blog post…..I’ll be sharing some more meal ideas here and a new prize pack!
I’m really excited to introduce an awesome mom owned business as the first #LCToddlerMeals sponsor……Busy Mats are made in Lafayette, Louisiana by a stay-at-home mother of two who enjoys cooking fresh cajun food for her family.
“Busy Mats were created for our own personal messes, but after seeing how useful they’ve been, and after positive feedback from family, friends and strangers, we decided to make them available for everyone’s messes. We make floor mats which are perfect for under high chairs, booster seats and even creative art and play time. We also make smaller table mats, great for finger foods and useful for an on-the-go mealtime surface. They are also great for art projects, providing a waterproof surface to work on. Our mats are made from 100% reusable, wipeable, foldable, durable oilcloth in bright patterns that parents and kids both enjoy.”
Lydia (and I) have been loving her Busy Mats…..you’ll be seeing a lot of them on our Instagram feed, but I wanted to share a bit about them here as well. Someone REALLY likes to throw food. All of my mommy research assures me that this is normal…..but it’s also really annoying. And messy. We’ve been using our Busy Mat floor mat at home……and it’s made cleaning up after meals a million times easier. And for those meals on the go? Our Busy mats placemats have been perfect. They roll up for easy storage in a diaper bag……and provide a clean place to lay out all of Lydia’s favorite foods.
Busy Mats is offering 30% off anytime you use the code MEALTIME for the whole month of February!
