The Circus, red and blue fashion and Funday Monday!

I’m back from St. Louis! After a month apart, it was amazing to get to visit my husband and see what he’s been up to.  He’s been in St. Louis for the last month because he ran away with the circus.  Yup, I’m serious.  Sort of.  People are often confused about my husband’s job.  Don’t worry, I was too.  He’s a professional violinist.  Yes, he actually makes a living playing the violin.  While he is classically trained, he also plays pop, rock and jazz.  He performs with tons of different artists, runs a studio teaching both students and adults, does a fair amount of studio recording (soundtracks, commercials, etc), is in a pretty awesome band, and plays high end events.  Luckily, since we met…..he hasn’t been out of town for any gigs for an extended period of time.  Until this month, the longest he’s been gone has been a week or so.  I wasn’t really sure what to expect when we discussed him staying in St. Louis for about 5 weeks.  I also wasn’t really sure what to expect when he said he’d be playing for a circus.  I wasn’t really clear on the whole thing until I was out there.
I got to see the show the first night I was in St. Louis.  I’m not going to lie, I was pretty concerned.  I was picturing “Water for Elephants”.  Man, was I wrong.  Think more artistic.  I was blown away.  The show was amazing, the performers were stunning, and I loved it!  I saw the show three times, and got to explore St. Louis….what a cool city!
I figured, a visit to the circus requires bright colors! I didn’t necessary mean to match the tent….but hey, it worked!

Hi Carly! I’m so glad you liked St. Louis – I live here and am always trying to convince people what a great city it is.

I’ve been thinking about going to see Water for Elephants for awhile and now that I “know of” one of the performers, I might just have to act on it!

Love your outfit this week – looks comfy and cute!

Omg! Okay, first of all- how am I just now finding out that your’e a teacher?! I am too :) Also, my husband is from St. Louis! We go there sometimes so he can visit his family. Your husband has an awesome job! But I understand that it’s hard when they’re gone for long periods of time like that! I think we need to be Instagram buddies from all of these awesome coincidences so we can stay in touch better. I’m going to follow you :)
