I'm sharing what inspired me to take pictures without makeup and why I'm oh so glad I did it…….
Thank you to Olay for sponsoring this post and for inspiring me to take pictures of myself in the raw.
Can we talk about the masks we wear? From tailored clothes to perfect hair to (for me) impeccably applied makeup. We all have our shields. Things that make us feel more confident and more comfortable. And the older I get, I realize…..there is nothing WRONG with those things. I love clothes, I love makeup, and I love a great blow out. But, I don't NEED them. Or so I thought. But I'm not going to lie…….putting these pictures on the internet makes me a little nervous.
Makeup is definitely my shield. Bathing Suits? I'm pretty cool with those pictures being all over the place (you can read more about THAT experience HERE). But makeup? Y'all seeing me without it still makes me cringe a little. I love makeup, I own a ton, and I wear it just about everyday. I can contour with the best of em, and I RARELY go out in public without at least penciling in my brows and adding some mascara to my lashes.
Yes, I talk on Instagram Stories without makeup all the time. But that? Disappears after 24 hours. And these pictures? They're clearly not going anywhere. Which is exactly why I was so inspired to take them. While I love a great made up face, the older I get…..it's important to me to celebrate my appearance just as it is.
A few weeks back, I decided to ask you guys for any less expensive skincare or makeup products that you LOVED. And the answer? Over and over again, Olay Whips. You guys are OBSESSED. And when I saw the stellar price point for Olay Whips Face Moisturizer, I decided to give it a shot. It’s a lightweight moisturizer and a primer in one product, so I figured I'd save money if I loved it. Plus, I LOVE that it has spf built in…..so I can literally wear this and nothing else on no makeup days. I grabbed a package of the product on a quick Target run, and tested it out for a couple days. Y'all, I'm IMPRESSED. It kept my skin moisturized without being shiny. It absorbed perfectly, and left my skin looking healthy. So healthy in fact, that Olay Whips is ALL I'm wearing on my face in these pictures.
So what do you think? Would YOU take pictures without any makeup on?
Whether you're taking makeup free portraits, or just hitting the beach with a bare face…….Olay Whips will help you skin look it's best (and it has spf, a total necessity)!
