Trunk Club Review January 2018: What I Kept, What I Returned and tips for a great trunk!
I know, I know……it's been WAY too long since I've done a real Trunk Club Review. While I've been sharing the pieces I get on Instagram Stories…..I haven't done ACTUAL blog posts. And those stories disappear, right? So, Trunk Club Review blog posts are BACK. And I'm adding in something fun……..videos. Each month I'll share a full video review over on our new Youtube channel. Cause, you guys want to see what the clothes look like in REAL LIFE, right? RIGHT.
A few details about Trunk Club:
TRUNK CLUB is an amazing service that is owned by Nordstrom. For a small fee ($25 a Trunk or FREE if you have a Nordstrom card)…..you are connected with a personal stylist that you build a relationship with. You set the frequency for your Trunks (I do once a month). I love that the pieces that my stylist sends for me to try are brands I know and love. And my other favorite thing? My relationship with my stylist. This is the ONLY service I've tried where I get to have conversations with her. We chat (using the messaging service on Trunk Club's website) and I can even preview my Trunk before she sends it. I have the ability to ask for other color options, say I don't like something or mention if I already own it. So if you're trying to avoid the mall? Then this is for YOU!
My Trunk Club Picks
SHOP MY TRUNK:
Vince Camuto Chevron Intarsia Sweater (size small, $99, returned): I was VERY on the fence about this sweater. I love the sleeves, and it fits really well……but I felt like it was a little pricy and I own something that is VERY similar.
Vince Camuto Ruched Jersey Midi Dress (size medium, $99, returned): I LOVE THIS DRESS! It fits like a dream, and is SUPER flattering. I would have kept it, but I own something VERY similar. If you're looking for a great black dress that is versatile…..BUY this!
Caslon Flare Sleeve Utility Jacket (size medium, $79, returned): If you are on the search for a basic light jacket…..this is a must buy. The sleeves are ADORABLE and add a feminine touch to a basic utility jacket. If I didn't own two other olive green jackets, I would have kept it for SURE.
Caslon Cowl Neck Pullover (size medium, $59, returned): I seriously considered keeping this pullover. It's super comfortable and cozy. I just felt like in our Southern California climate…..I wouldn't use it THAT much.
Chelsea28 Jaquard Midi Wrap Dress (size medium, $99, returned): This was a GIANT no for me. The butterfly print? Not my style.
Caslon Lace-Up Neck Floral Embroidered Sweatshirt (size medium, $59, returned): I'm still sort of mad I didn't keep this sweatshirt. It's REALLY cute on, I just felt like I have a ton of stylish sweatshirts….and I was trying to be conservative. ARG, now I want it.
Eliza J Crepe Sheath Dress (size 10, $128, returned): Not gonna lie, this was a total disappointment. I saw it online and was REALLY excited. I imagined it being VERY flattering, and it was anything but.
Knot Sisters Last Call Midi Dress (size medium, $150, returned): I have a thing about dresses with layers. I feel like they bunch up and add bulk. So this one? Not for me.
Felicity & Coco Rocco Jumpsuit (size large, $98, returned): Now, I love a good jumpsuit…..but I also own four. So this was a send back.
Adelyn Rae Kerry Maxi Dress (size medium, $110, returned): Something about the flimsy fabric of this dress just wasn't for me. It looked sort of baggy and unflattering.
Caslon Gathered Waist Front Zip Jacket (size medium, $79 PICTURED): LOVE LOVE LOVE! This is the best semi-fancy sweatshirt I've bought in awhile. I've been wearing it as a light jacket at work all week. It feels like a sweatshirt and wears like a jacket. I'm OBSESSED (and obviously kept it).
Maggy London Lace Detail Crepe Sheath Dress (size 10, $148, kept): I've been on the search for great little black dresses that flatter a pear shape body. And this one? Totally fits the bill. I love it!
