Stitch Fix Review July 2018……what I kept, what I returned and what you should request (plus a giveaway)!

Stitch Fix Review July 2018……what I kept, what I returned and what you should request (plus a giveaway)!

Oh hello summer.  We're in the thick of summer vacation, and all I could think of was wanting more shorts, tees, and casual summer gear when my Fix arrived this month.  We're planning a few last minute trips, enjoying days at the pool, and trying to pretend that it's not ALMOST time to plan for Back to School.  I requested casual summer separates for July, and mentioned that I also needed some new summer accessories.  From sandals to purses, my stylist DELIVERED.  My entire Fix screamed summer fun, and totally made my day when it arrived.

In case you aren’t already familiar with  STITCH FIX…….a bit about the service: STITCH FIX is a personalized styling service that sends five pieces (including accessories if you choose)to your doorstep.  The great thing? When you join, you fill out an extensive styling profile.  You can request certain items or even ask for options for a specific event (like a conference or vacation).  You choose how often you get a fix (for me it’s usually once a month).  In the comfort of your own home, you try on all items.  Then you keep what you love, and send back the rest…..and all with free shipping!  There is a $20 styling fee, but you can use that $20 as a credit towards any of the items you keep.  And YES, you can set a price range you feel comfortable with.

Stitch Fix Review July 2018

Stitch Fix Review July 2018……what I kept, what I returned and what you should request (like this Kate Spade Pineapple Off-the-Shoulder Top)!

Kut From The Kloth Erinne Drawstring Short (size 10, $58, returned): These shorts were ok, but I wasn't CRAZY about them.  You guys know my rule……if I don't LOVE something, it's a return.

Kate Spade Pineapple Off-the-Shoulder Top (size medium, $148, returned): I actually did LOVE this top, but I didn't love the price.  I felt like I wouldn't wear it ENOUGH to justify a $150 top.

Stitch Fix Review July 2018……what I kept, what I returned and what you should request (like these Sole Society Malina Suede Fringe Pom Slides)!

Sam Edelman Giuliana Round Straw Tote ($118, returned): I love love loved this bag.  If I hadn't JUST bought a similar one, it would have been a keeper. PERFECT for summer!

Sole Society Malina Suede Fringe Pom Slide ($84, kept): THESE SHOES ARE THE BOMB.  I love how fun they are, and bonus? SO comfortable.  I kept them.  They're coming on all my vacations.  And they're a GREAT price point.

Stitch Fix Review July 2018……what I kept, what I returned and what you should request (like this Kate Spade Ruffle Sleeve Tee)!

Kate Spade Ruffle Sleeve Tee (size medium, $68, returned): I LOVED this top.  LOVED it.  I own one that is almost identical, otherwise I would have kept it.  It fit like a DREAM.

So what do you think? Should I have kept more? Do you love my slides as much as I do? What would YOU have returned?

As always, I'm teaming up with a few of my favorite Stitch Fix ladies to share our fixes for the month and to give ONE of you a chance to win a Stitch Fix Gift Card!

The Kate Spade Ruffle Sleeve Tee was definitely my favorite! The navy stripe gives that fun summer nautical vibe.

I really love the Kate Spade Ruffle Sleeve Tee and it looks great on you! It would be silly to have two though right…? (This is why stitch fix is bad for me and why I end up with very similar things in my closet!!)

I totally agree that if I don’t love it I wouldn’t keep it. Actually every one of your items looked so good on you. I think my favorite, even though you didn’t keep it, is the ruffled sleeve tee because it’s my type clothing everyday.

That year involved one major teacher strike in my district, many many many jobs and gigs for both of us, minimal time off together, a whole lot of unknowns and a whole lot of stress. The Disney and Aulani team probably had no idea that they were giving us the gift of much needed peaceful time together when they invited us on a trip to this magical place. A trip that….to be honest, was beyond our means at the time. We cherished every moment. A lot has happened since then. A move, buying a house, seeing those years of hard work pay off. And now….we did it. We’re back. Lazy river here we come. TLDR? If you’re in the thick of it, I see you. We’ve been there. Family, Welcome Home……we did it. Aulani for the week.

When training for my race, I didn’t stretch or warm up enough most days and….here we are.Lesson learned. I’m 4 weeks post race (do not recommend running a 10k on a pulled muscle) and I’m……almost better. I’m learning to stretch and walk and to take better care of myself so that I can start running again REALLY soon (we’re almost there I think). For now? I’m doing recovery walks and trying to strengthen my leg. And trying to make sure I get enough protein. When I talked about Built Bars on my stories, a LOTTTTT of you raced about their Puffs. Yup, I get it. They’re AMAZING. I’ve been bringing them along on my walks (and gluten free friends….they have some great options for us).Have you ever pulled a muscle? The Zoo is close to downtown, the Safari Park is about 25 miles north. I’d suggest one day at each. They’re totally unique and both worth a visit. The Safari Park is smaller, but has REALLY unique exhibits (Walkabout Australia is my favorite).⠀2️⃣ both have some really fun and unique dining experiences that you can reserve in advance: Albert’s at the Zoo is a FANCY and fun sit down option, and The Watering Hole at Kijamii Overlook at the Safari Park is great for happy hour or a fun lunch ⠀3️⃣ there are great kids play areas at both locations, the Wildlife Explorers Base Camp area at the San Diego Zoo is brand new and absolutely amazing⠀⠀✨ Now, a bonus tip. Undercover Tourist now has NATIONWIDE savings on over 500 attractions in 50 cities and up to 25% on tickets for theme parks, zoo, museums, aquariums, city tours, water parks, and movie tickets. It’s intimate and moody and filled with history and some of the best food in the world. It reminds me of childhood trips to the zoo and Golden Gate Park, it reminds me of my first apartment after college and my first serious relationship. It reminds me of 22 year old carefree nights with friends and milkshakes at Mels in high school and coffee in North Beach and nights in the Marin Headlands (the closest we were supposed to get to the bridge).⠀⠀So when I had the opportunity to spend 20 hours in my city by the Bay?
