From snacks to easy breakfast recipes, we use their products all the time!
In addition to amazing donations and programs to support local families in need, DOLE teamed up with Chef Jamie Gwen to create recipes perfect for families on a tight budget. These simple recipes use DOLE products in delicious ways without costing an arm and a leg, and they're even perfect for serving to groups at the food banks that DOLE is supporting.
We tested out two Easy Breakfast Recipes, and trust me when I say…..they're perfect for the picky eaters in your family.
Picky Eaters: Easy Breakfast Recipes with DOLE
No Bake Energy Bars
Prep: 20 min. Refrigerate: 1 hr. Makes: 10 servings
1 cup DOLE® Whole Pitted Dates 1 cup slivered almonds
1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
1 cup DOLE Seedless Raisins 1-1/3 cups peanut butter
Line 8-inch square pan with plastic wrap.
Place dates in food processor, pulse until chopped and forms a ball.
Place almonds in medium skillet, over medium heat, cook, stirring constantly until lightly
Remove from heat, cool, slightly and coarsely chop almonds. Add oats to same skillet,
cook, stirring constantly until lightly toasted.
Stir together, pureed dates, almonds, oats and raisins in large bowl.
Spoon peanut butter into microwavable bowl, heat on HIGH 30 seconds or until melted
and pourable. Pour peanut butter over date mixture and mixed until completely coated.
Spread peanut date mixture evenly into prepared baking pan. Cover with plastic wrap.
Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm. Cut into bars. Store in airtight container.
DOLE Tropical Fruit Crumble
Prep: 10 min. Bake: 30 min. Makes: 8 servings
3 cans (15.25 oz. each) DOLE® Tropical Fruit, drained
3/4 cup granulated sugar, divided
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
Preheat. oven to 375ºF.
Dry tropical fruit well with paper towels. Spoon tropical fruit in large bowl stir in 1/2 cup
granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, lemon juice and pinch of salt. Toss to evenly
Stir together remaining 1/2 cup flour, oats, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, brown sugar and
1/4 teaspoon salt, in separate mixing bowl. Mix in butter until topping is clumpy.
Spoon tropical fruit mixture into 9-inch square baking dish. Scatter streusel topping
over tropical fruit.
Bake 30 to 40 minutes, or until the filling is bubbling and the topping is golden brown.
Serve with a dollop of yogurt or sour cream.
