💖I know guys, I know. From holiday prep to distance learning.....we’re all running on fumes lately and if you’re anything like me? Self care isn’t exactly at the top of the to do list.⠀

💖One thing I have committed to? These morning rides in our garage to start the day. They help me take a little time for myself, to get some endorphins, and to provide stress release. Today I teamed up with @Pedsbrand to share a day in my self care shoes (or socks).....and I realized, there are a few more moments I can work into my day.⠀

💖My bike rides aren’t the only daily habit....so are the socks I wear all day long. From bike to distance learning classroom (aka our dining room).....I’ve been wearing Peds All Day Active No Show Socks. They’re the first no show socks I’ve tried that actually STAY PUT (even during exercise). From the comfortable toe seam to the breathable mesh and double tabs.....they actually make it through the day with me from bike to.....dining room classroom.⠀

🌊These adorable pajamas are super soft, and are a total steal at Kohl’s (they sent them to us as a holiday gift and I can’t tell you how excited I was when I saw the print). Yes, you can also shoot them in the privacy of your own home if you’re not quite as extra as I am.⠀

🎃I know, I know……we’re all talking about Halloween plans for the kids, but I had to have a little fun too. I mean, we’re all smelling, seeing and hearing our kids constantly…..so might as well get in on the fun right?⠀

👻Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and when I was teaching I used to have a separate costume for school and home. So? We’re doing that this year too. This is my first costume (it might all be downhill from here, does it get any better?)…….but the next one? Is a family costume.⠀

💖However you say it…..it’s filled with love. There is something so special about dads and their daughters. One of the things I love most about Robbie? The special relationship he has with Lydia. Lately they’ve been going on their own date nights (she even puts on her most grown up clothes for them) and it’s absolutely adorable (they are obsessed with going to this fancy ice cream shop near us that makes the BEST homemade ice cream sandwiches).⠀

💖#PenguinKidsPartner You guys know I love a great children’s book (it’s basically my love language) and this one from @penguinkids? Is absolutely adorable (a GREAT gift idea). What We’ll Build: Plans For Our Together Future is the latest book from @OliverJeffers (one of our favorites). He creates beautiful stories with illustrations that are stunning….and this one? No exception. This sweet book shares a father and daughter who are building a life together with tools (tear jerker warning). ⠀

Yup, that’s what I started asking right about this time LAST year. It was our first fall here in our little town in San Diego. And I FELT AWFUL. When I dropped Lydia off at school one morning, another mom mentioned… “man, it’s allergy season alright!” And there it was. My seasonal allergies were WORSE than ever. I was taking allergy medication and it was doing a great job with the allergy symptoms itself, But I still felt, run down and sort of ‘out of it’.⠀

This year? I’m attacking those ‘blah’ feelings head on with @AllerLife. These are the 4 things I’m adding to my routine to help with overall wellness and immunity support:⠀

1️⃣Hydrate (you guys know that not drinking enough water contributes to a LOT of health issues, including fatigue). So first things first? I’m making sure I’m actually drinking enough water.⠀

✨How many more years of mommy and me trips do I have before she’s not into it? (she’s almost 7 for the record)✨⠀

💫These two days were……much needed. It’s so crazy to think that RIGHT before the world shut down, Lydia and I were on the mommy and me trip of a lifetime. I missed these special trips with her, and this was the PERFECT way to get back into it within our comfort level.⠀
⠀
I wanted to share some things that helped us on our trip.⠀
⠀
The Hyatt Regency Orange County hosted us and I loved:⠀
💫the family suite that gave us plenty of space (hello Lydia even did virtual PE in the room)⠀
✨the online check in and the masks required in all public areas⠀
💫the open to pick up food at Stabucks in the Lobby (or Nova on property) to eat in the room⠀
✨the awesome pool and recreation area (Lydia is now pickle ball obsessed)⠀
💫the hotel is less than 2 miles from Disneyland, so I knew it would be easy to check out Downtown Disney and that if it was too crowded we could easily leave and try another time⠀

✨this was Lydia’s first time since it reopened⠀
💫I highly suggest visiting during the week, the crowds were low ⠀
✨the Backlot Premiere Shop is new, and a TON of fun (and it’s technically inside Disney California Adventure so…..you’re IN THE PARK)⠀
💫Marceline’s always has a long wait, so head there FIRST and put your name in the virtual line (it was about two hours before our turn came, we did other things and they texted us when it was our turn to shop)⠀

I’m so glad we got to have a magical couple days, and Lydia’s already asking when we can head back! ⠀
⠀
💫Now, tell the truth…….at what age is she going to be OVER this???💫⠀
