Date Night Outfit: What to Wear
Ok mamas, let's be real about this. I have WAY more sneakers, flats, and jeggings in my wardrobe than date night outfit pieces. It's just the stage of life we are in. I wish I could say that date nights happened every week (and kudos to the parents who can have dates that often)…..but around here they're more like a once a month.
So, as a result? My date night outfit options are slim to none. We are planning a short parents only trip the weekend after Valentine's Day (I'm WAY too excited), and I recently realized that I had NO date night wardrobe options.

Simple Tips for Date Night Wardrobe Shopping:
- Invest in a Flattering Dress: Invest in a great dress that you feel beautiful in. For me? I wanted a boho style, romantic dress that I could wear year round. In cooler weather? I wanted to layer with tights and a faux fur vest. In the summer? Bare legs and sandals.
- Fancy Shoes, That Won't Be Torture: There was a time in my life when I rocked stilettos every time I went out. That time has LONG since passed. I don't know if it's age, or mom life, but I just can't wear uncomfortable heels. So these adorable open toe booties? Are perfect for me. I've worn them for a date night, and with a pair of jeggings (style tip, you CAN wear tights with open toed booties like these in cold weather).
- Fun Accessories: Accessories are where you can go a little crazy for date nights. Invest in some fun trendy pieces (I'm on a total choker kick)……because they're easy to switch out and rotate. This year? Top trends to try? Chokers, pendant necklaces, and raw stones.

So, now that you have the date night outfit pieces you need……we all ACTUALLY need to go on dates, right? Our goal for 2017 is to go on two dates a month. Ideally, we'd do one date night a week, but between full time jobs and graduate school for my husband…..two a month seems attainable. My Valentine's Day present to my husband? I booked our babysitter and set up our date nights for the next two months. Yup, they're on the books. And he gets to pick them. I'm giving him this cute set of love coupons. He can cash them in and choose what he'd like to do for our date nights (and there are a few bonus coupons just for fun)!
