This simple chambray dress may be the best investment I’ve made this summer (and it’s under $40)!From Malibu to New York and back again. I feel like the last two weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind….and I’m actually preparing to go on ANOTHER trip later this week…..to Nashville. Honestly, this is the most traveling I’ve done since Lydia was born. It feels a little weird head out of town without her, but……in about five weeks we’ll all be back to school and our real lives.

I spent almost all of last week in New York (pretty much the polar opposite of the day before I left when I took these pictures on the Malibu Pier). And it was absolutely amazing. It’s so funny, because I usually swear I’m much more of a city person than a beach person……but five days in the concrete jungle left me craving some Vitamin Sea. In fact, I have plans to head to Malibu tomorrow just for fun. This adorable cafe is literally on the edge of a pier, overlooking the ocean. Sitting there, I couldn’t help but think how lucky I am to live so close to the beach. There’s nothing like the ocean air, right?
I actually brought this chambray dress to New York with me, and wore it a TON of times in the city…..and the best part? It went on sale while I was there. So now it’s under $40. Chambray is such a great light summer fabric, and I feel like I can easily wear this for years to come. Bonus? It’s super flattering, and washes really well. I’ve washed this dress twice and it looks good as new!
A few of my favorite chambray pieces for the rest of the summer………
Are you a beach person? Or a city person? (and if anyone has must see places in Nashville……..please leave them in the comments!)
Love that dress!

What a beautiful lady in a beautiful dress. It is perfect for the spring and summer. I love that it can match any accessory.
