Looking for the best Family SUV? Us too. I’m sharing YOUR recommendations for the best one, and how we are narrowing down our choices.
Thank you to Autotrader for sponsoring this post and for helping us narrow down our choices for the Best Family SUV.
Remember a couple of months ago when I asked you guys for car tips? I shared that we were starting the process of searching for a new car (mine is almost ten years old and it’s inevitable that I’ll need a new one within the next year or so). We decided that we wanted to upgrade my sedan to a larger car, and we’re on the hunt for the best family suv. I figured, who better to ask than ALL of you. And MAN, did I get responses. They helped a ton. We narrowed our list from about a million cars to the top five.
Now that we have AT LEAST narrowed our search to the top five cars that were recommended, we’re in research mode. Enter A?UTOTRADER?. Autotrader is the perfect resource for our search….from the Vehicle Description Pages to info on what others have paid in our area……we are using Autotrader? to gather info about each car option. Autotrader recently got a makeover, and it’s easier to use than ever. I love that Autotrader now has ?Kelley Blue Book’s Price Advisor tool featured on all vehicle description pages, so that we can be confident that we are getting fair prices as we shop and commit to a new car. Shopping for a car is a HUGE purchase, just like buying a house……it’s important to compare what others around you are paying.
Contenders for the Best Family SUV
<All Pricing Provided by AUTOTRADER’S ?Kelley Blue Book Price Advisor: Kelley Blue Book Price Advisor shows you what you should pay for your next car based off of other recent sales for the same vehicle in your area so that you can be sure you’re getting a fair deal! >
Kia Niro: We just had the chance to test drive a Kia Niro during our trip up to the Bay Area and I have to be honest……it’s probably the top contender. THAT PRICE? It’s a great deal, for a car we loved. It’s a hybrid, and gets KILLER gas mileage. Definitely on the smaller side of SUVs, but as a family of three….we don’t need a HUGE car, so it’s the perfect size for us.
Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV: Another SUV hybrid option, we actually tried a Mitsubishi Outlander on our spring break trip this year. It felt a little bigger and harder to navigate…..but had a TON of space. A lot of you recommended an Outlander, and said you loved driving one!
Mazda CX-5 ($34,715): The Mazda CX-5 has RAVE reviews for drivability, and is a decent price. It’s also spacious…..and has a TON of cargo space.
Honda CR-V ($35,145): The Honda CR-V is one of the top selling family SUVs, and has great room even in the back seats. It’s got high safety ratings and good storage.
Our goal is to buy a new car by the end of 2018, and I love that the Kelley Blue Book Price Advisor will give me confidence that we’re finding a great deal. Our next steps? Test drives! We can even use Autotrader to email a dealer and set up a test drive!
So what do YOU think about our search for the Best Family SUV? Suggestions?
