Looking for colored walls in Los Angeles? I know, it's like…..a thing now. We're sharing some of our favorite LA picture spots for taking bright, fun and colorful pictures!
I can't tell you how many emails I've gotten recently commenting on the backgrounds of our pictures. In case you haven't noticed (ha!) I love bright, colorful backdrops. Lucky for us, Los Angeles has a wealth of amazing street art. Today, I wanted to share a few of our favorite LA picture spots.
This popular shopping area in Venice and near the beach has more colorful murals that you can count on both hands. Park in front of Intelligensia Coffee Shop (amazing lattes). Within a block, you'll find a ton of colorful options. Our favorites?
The vibrant blue wall in the alley beside Roosterfish (1302 Abbott Kinney Blvd), the purple and pink fence further up that same alley, and the new #BleedingHearts mural you see in these pictures on the side of Greenleaf (1239 Abbott Kinney Blvd).
Santa Monica is a great place to shoot. While the beach is a great backdrop, it's not one of our favorites. We love shooting on the Santa Monica Pier, it's bright and vibrant. Main Street in Santa Monica is also full of murals, and one of our favorites is a peach and blue mural across the street from The Victorian (2640 Main St).
We lived in Culver City until Lydia was about six months old. I love heading back to our old neighborhood and wandering around. It houses one of the most photographed murals in LA, the love wall painted on the side of Smashbox Studios (8549 Higuera St.) Another great place to shoot in Culver City? The movie theatre downtown has a ton of beautiful tile work and makes a great backdrop (9500 Culver Blvd).
The Valley is where we currently live and shoot on a regular basis. Our favorite places to shoot? The Village at Topanga has stunning backdrops, including those rainbow chairs you see a lot around these parts. Orcutt Ranch (23600 Roscoe Blvd, West Hills) has an amazing red barn, and beautiful orange groves……and looks beautiful at sunset. And The Discovery Cube (11800 Foothill Blvd, Los Angeles)? Bright green walls that a blast to take pictures near…..and bonus? The museum is fun too.
A few of our other favorite places to shoot? The Point in El Segundo (850 S Sepulveda Blvd, El Segundo) has an amazing bright yellow lifeguard stand for kids to play in (and looks awesome in pictures). Disneyland? My absolute favorite location, hands down. Little tip? Get there EARLY, when it's less crowded.
