Do you have a list of pictures to take of your kids? We're sharing 10 must take photos, that you should be taking each and every year!Let's talk pictures.  The older Lydia gets, the faster it seems like the time is going.  We recently sat down, and made a list of photos we want to be sure we take each year that aren't holiday pictures.  While birthday and Christmas photos are important…..today we're talking about OTHER pictures you'll be happy you have when your teenagers don't want you taking pictures of them anymore.Do you have a list of pictures to take of your kids? We're sharing 10 must take photos, that you should be taking each and every year!10 Pictures To Take of Your Kids Every Single Year

  1. Early Mornings: As kids get older, mornings change.  Be sure to snap a picture of your little ones slurping away at their cereal in those adorable footie pajamas.
  2. Favorite Book: If books are as important in your household as they are in ours, they're a huge part of each year.  Take a picture of your child reading their favorite book.  Compare them year after year….it is amazing how those favorites change!
  3. Regular School Day: We all snap those first day of school pictures, but what about a regular school day? If you walk to school, snap a few photos along the way.  Drive? Park a block away and take candids on the walk.  Those day to day moments? Hold the most memories.
  4. Play Time: You know those times when you glance over and your little one is totally engrossed in playing? Blocks, puppets, puzzles…….keep a camera close by to capture the moment.
  5. Balloon Pictures: Take a picture each year of your kiddo holding a bouquet of balloons.  No matter how old they get, the pictures will always be cute!
  6. A Picture with Each Parent: As parents, we almost always forget to be IN the photos.  Pick a day each year to focus on getting pictures of each of you and your kids.
  7. Get some air: Nothing like a kid jumping to liven up a picture……take a picture each year of your kiddo mid-jump.
  8. Same Place Every Year: Pick a location….your favorite ice cream shop, your favorite street art, the beach.  Return every year for a picture.
  9. Laughing: Pictures of kids calmly smiling at the camera? Totally overrated.  Snap your child in the middle of a giggle fit.  You'll thank yourself later.
  10. Dreams: Each year, ask your kid to dress up as what they want to be when they grow up.  Their choices will amaze you!

These are great ideas! I like the giggle fit suggestion and the everyday playing moments idea. One thing we TRY to remember to do is to take a picture of our toddler daughter in the big, white hotel bed on vacation. It’s already been fun to see the changes in her from trip to trip. The white sheets make a great backdrop, she’s always excited when she wakes up in a new place and pajama pics and bedhair are always my faves. 🙂

Good list! I also like to take pictures of my kids crafts (or while they’re crafting, so they’re in the shot, too). This way you can see how their development progressed along with their age and you don’t have to save all that precious artwork!!! 🙂 Thanks for sharing at the Family Joy Linkup!

Great ideas! A family photo would be a good one to add to the list too. So far the only one I’ve been great about taking without fail every year is the kids in their Halloween costumes; though I think my oldest will not be dressing up this year.

These are really neat ideas! I’ve never thought of planning any pictures to take, but this is certainly something that might be fun to do! 🙂

I am a very happy kid right now to know that I have all kinds of pictures in your list. I also try to make pictures of my sons with your list without being aware that they already make wonderful childhood memory. Thank you for sharing at Family Fun Friday.

🚗 Road Trips……Which one are you?⠀ ⠀ Thi 🚗 Road Trips……Which one are you?⠀⠀This weekend we flew to Sacramento and then road tripped north to see my family up in the mountains. It was so much fun to spend time together, and it reminded me….we are ALL one of these people on a toad trip.⠀⠀Bonus points to the VERY nice road trip vehicle we had…..the team at @MazdaUSA lent us a 2023 Mazda CX-50 Turbo Premium Plus and it was AMAZING (it even had a wireless charging dock for our phones). It made my snack stops even better (yup, we tried Dutch Bros for the first time and OMG we need them to expand to more Southern California locations ASAP).⠀⠀So, which are person are YOU on a road trip? ⠀⠀#familytravel #drivemazda
….and also why are we commenting negatively abou ….and also why are we commenting negatively about people’s appearances in 2023?Double also: if the worst thing people on the interwebs can say about me is that they don’t like my smile…..then I feel pretty good about what type of person I’ve chosen to be.
💕Because we all want our kids to soar………⠀⠀So fitting right? Elvis named this plane after his daughter. And all I’ve been thinking about throughout our St Jude experience…..is how certain things truly bond all of us. Certain things cross economic barriers and continent and language differences. Parenthood is one of those. It’s a universal experience. And I think whether we are parents or role models or aunties or friends……we all know what it’s like to dream and hope on behalf of a child in your life.⠀⠀In 2012, when I was newly married and not yet a parent one of my students was diagnosed with cancer. Without revealing details about her or her family, I think it’s important to recognize that economic barriers prevented what should have been an earlier diagnosis. It was one of many times I was reminded during my time with the amazing humans in my classrooms that…..we do NOT all have the same access or experiences in life. That student and her family were one of the miracle stories. In fact, when she came back to class, she complained about missing soccer games at recess and fell right back in with the rest in a way that to this day brings joyful tears to my eyes. ⠀⠀I said this on my stories during my trip, but…..I didn’t realize until this experience that families at St Jude NEVER receive a bill. Ever. No matter what. That this access gives families hope during their darkest days.⠀⠀I’m going to be teaming up with St. Jude to do a fun challenge that will hopefully inspire y’all to support them too. Let’s just say that…..for this scared of heights, refuses to take my feet off the ground theme park girlie……I’m going to making the ultimate sacrifices.⠀⠀What rides would you want to see me go on in support of St Jude? (be kind, I’m literally TERRIFIED of any and all rides that have a height limit). You know they REALLY moved me if I’m even thinking of doing this! ⠀⠀@stjude #stjudeambassador
💕Double tap if you know what the Peabody is fam 💕Double tap if you know what the Peabody is famous for…..so many of you guessed it in stories last night!🦆The Peabody Hotel is famous for their duck parade. And we got to see it as a part of Day 1 of the St Jude Content Creator Summit. I’m in Memphis to learn all about how St Jude is doing life saving research to fight and cure childhood cancers.💕Real talk: I get to do a lot of fun things because of this little app but projects like this? Are an absolute honor. Did you know that patients at St Jude NEVER RECEIVE A BILL? What a gift to families in crisis. I’m so happy to share this next couple of days here in Memphis with y’all and to support such an important organization.🦆Now, swipe to see the ducks. @stjude #stjudeambassador
She IS Ariel. We saw it. It’s a gift. This s She IS Ariel. We saw it. It’s a gift. This stunning movie shows a princess who is absolutely……royal. Graceful. Brave and……the perfect mermaid. Years ago, I was sitting in the theater during the live action Lion King premiere just days after the Little Mermaid casting was announced. And in walked Halle Bailey. This young girl and all I could think was……how much weight of the world was on her shoulders. The room paused. And people everywhere stood. They applauded her and smiled and I thought…..she really is a princess. Halle, you are the epitome of royalty. Thank you for sharing your shine with the world.I would love to encourage you to follow these amazing creators who have been shining themselves and sharing a ton of special Little Mermaid experiences:@jenniferborget @erikaenchanted@davidvaughn@_the_adventurous_rjay@colormemagic@melizzablackLydia’s, Robbie’s and my full review of the film will be on the blog Monday morning. How excited are you for the film?
