Are you ready to join me on a journey to celebrate motherhood and family?
I’m Carly and at Lipgloss and Crayons, we celebrate it all – the messes, the joys, the struggles, and of course, the fun! I prefer to do it with fun clothes, pretty makeup, and lots of cute pictures but I want you to celebrate your family your way. There’s no #momshaming around here; this is a #noshame zone.
I know that we are all busy but I think it’s important to take time to focus on the joys of motherhood and the happiness of family. That’s why around here you’re going to find a lot of…
- Great outfits that are perfect for the busy mom on the go
- Fun products that are going to make your family life easier to manage
- Books and toys that are toddler-tested (and approved) by my little one
- Recipes that are family-friendly and easy to make
- …and a whole lot more
Now, settle in and look around because I think you’re going to enjoy it here at Lipgloss & Crayons where we live every day with a little sparkle and flair.
I believe that every family is a family worth celebrating!
I love celebrating family and motherhood at Lipgloss and Crayons but I’m also a full-time teacher in an inner-city school here in Los Angeles. I specialize in literacy intervention and work with children that are two years behind their age group.
Those children are such an inspiration and every day they give me something new to celebrate. There is such joy to be found whenever they see progress in their literacy skills and it continually reminds me to cherish the small moments and celebrate the victories (usually with a glitter bomb, dance party, and a strawberry shortcake martini for mom).
I also have special training which allows me to work with children on the Autism spectrum and to support children with behavioral issues. Some days are beautiful while others are more challenging but they are all worth celebrating (perhaps with one of these great Daddy/Daughter Date Ideas which are easily adaptable to Daddy/Son, Mommy/Daughter, or Mommy/Son dates).
My husband and I believe that everyone can achieve the American Dream and we live to make the world a better place for our daughter, Lydia, and the generations that follow. While we live in a city of glitz and glamour, we work hard to make sure that everyone knows that they have value and have their own sparkle to add to the world.
As a professional musician he brings beauty and harmony to a world that needs it (I’m still not sure how I married a rockstar. I joke that I was looking for a nice accountant and something went awry…). He’s an amazing husband and a clearly devoted father to our little girl.
We have a great partnership. Sometimes he stays home with her and the Disney movies while I sneak off for sushi and a coffee that I can actually drink while it’s still hot. Other times he gets quiet time while I go for a run with Lydia in the jogging stroller (and yup, I’m that annoying mom but hey no #momshaming remember?).
