Visiting Disneyland or Disney World in the near future? We are sharing 15 Acts of Kindness that you can do as a family while visiting the parks (Walt would approve)!
“Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy.”
-The Walt Disney Company
The Disney parks are amazing, magical places. They’re filled with joy and fun and imagination. They also can feel pretty opulent. Let’s be honest, ticket prices aren’t exactly small and that’s just what it takes to walk through the entrance!
As annual pass holders, we visit Disneyland on a regular basis. As we planned our trip to Disneyland to celebrate Lydia’s third birthday…..she started to ask questions. She wanted to know how many rides we could go on, which characters she would meet, and which toys she could buy on Main Street. And it started to worry me. Were we focusing on the wrong things? Encouraging her to focus on objects more than the joy of the experience?
Earlier this week, we did something a little different during our trip to Disneyland. We started Lydia’s Disney Acts of Kindness. To celebrate her third birthday, we did three acts of kindness during our day at the park. We still went to our first character breakfast, rode rides, and ate more sweets than I care to admit….but we balanced the scales a bit (and yes, Lydia still brought home a special toy from her favorite store on Main Street).
We wanted to share our brainstorming list with y’all…..fifteen ideas for acts of kindness families can do while visiting Disneyland AND to do one more act of kindness. We’re giving one of YOU a $100 Disney Dollars gift card (good at the parks or at any Disney store)!
