It’s that time…..we’re talking about how to build a Fall Capsule Wardrobe with a little help from Target and Starbucks (because, let’s be honest…..a yummy Starbucks drink is a fall accessory!)
This blog post was sponsored by Starbucks but the opinions are completely my own based on my experience. #FALLFORSTARBUCKS
When I started thinking about writing this post, I’m not going to lie…..my plan went in about six different directions. My mission? To create a fall capsule wardrobe, that wouldn’t break the bank and could be bought in one easy location. The answer? Target. Who doesn’t want an entire capsule wardrobe you can purchase along with groceries, cleaning supplies, and even these new fancy Starbucks Fall Blend K-cups.
What is a capsule wardrobe? If you somehow missed the capsule wardrobe craze in the last few years, it’s simple. A small collection of clothing that can be mixed and matched to create a variety of outfits. You limit your purchases and maximum the pieces you do buy.
I’ve experimented with a capsule wardrobe a couple of times, and have discovered a few tips:
- Leave space for special occasion pieces. This fall capsule wardrobe? Everyday wear only. I left space to buy a fancy dress or raincoat if needed. But the pieces included? Will get you through a regular week, from playdates to date night.
- Stick within the same color scheme and style. The idea is to select a LOT of items that can mix and match easily. For this one? I was inspired by delicious warm fall drinks (like the Fall Blend K-Cups I snagged during my shopping trip to Target). So, I stuck with deep colors and classic shapes. They mix and match easily…..and will look great in cooler weather.
- Invest in pieces that fit well and you’ll get the most use out of.
During a recent Target run, I picked up all the pieces needed for a complete Fall Capsule Wardrobe (along with my favorite new fall blend k cups).
