Let's be real. We all need another couple hours in the day, right? These Mom Life Hacks have helped me get some of that time back!
Thank you to Fabkids for collaborating on this post.
As I gear up to start another school year, I'm already mourning our easy summer days. It was amazing to have no agendas, no alarm clocks, and to ACTUALLY have enough time during the day to get our to do list checked off. Since we are back to reality next week, I'll be starting up a couple actions that helped a TON last school year. These mom life hacks were easy, and gave me a little of my time back.
For months, I was scrambling to prepare dinner every night. Or begging my husband to pick up take out. Finally? I actually started meal planning on Sundays, and cooking a few nights a week in our crock pot. It was LIFE CHANGING. Coming home to a finished meal? Pretty much the best thing ever. And this year? I'm trying out freezer meals (prepping on a Sunday for two weeks, then freezing the meals and crock pot cooking them each day).
While this didn't happen every day, it did happen some days. A friend from work and I decided to take walking lunches one or two days a week. We got to chat, and get some exercise in. This year? I'm planning to recruit a few teachers to go jogging one or two afternoons a week right after school. We can discuss classroom ideas, collaborate AND run.
There are certain items we just HAVE to keep on hand: diapers, shampoo, razors, etc. And I feel like I'm constantly running out of them…..then having to stop at the store. This year? They're all on auto-refill. Whether it's the diaper subscription service we've fallen in love with, or putting our razors on subscription with amazon, or setting up our monthly prescriptions to be shipped to our house…..I'm making it all automatic. I won't have to worry about these items at ALL!
Anyone that has a toddler knows that selecting outfits in the morning can be, well a total time suck. My plan this year? To hang outfit choices for Lydia on hangers in advance. She can PICK one of the outfits…..then, we dress and go (time is of the essence when you have to leave the house before 7 am)!
We recently hosted a mommy and me lunch here in Los Angeles for Fabkids, one of my favorite kids' clothing brands. Lydia has been wearing Fabkids pieces since she finally grew into their smallest size. They're high quality (the fabrics are amazing), stylish, and a great price. My favorite part? Not only can you set up a subscription to buy an outfit a month, but you can buy staples from them that will arrive directly to your doorstep. We just stocked up on a bunch of dresses, tees and leggings for fall. I loved knowing that each piece would fit perfectly, and would be great quality. Plus, who doesn't want to skip a shopping trip with a toddler?
Don't forget, we teamed up with Fabkids and Yoobi to giveaway a $100 Fabkids gift card so that YOU can shop for adorable kids' gear from the comfort of your own home and to stock your house full of Yoobi school supplies! You can enter HERE!
