Stitch Fix: Do you know what to do when you DON'T love your fix? How to be sure your next fix is a slam dunk!
Ok, so by now…..you guys know how much I love Stitch Fix. It's a treat that I give myself each month…..letting someone else pick out a few items……and having them show up on my doorstep. And these pictures? Are of one of my favorite pieces I've ever received from Stitch Fix……the Amour Vert Ahren Knit Dress that I scored when I was styled live and in person by the Stitch Fix team before our television appearance last month. It's versatile, comfortable, and super flattering! They seriously knocked it out of the park.So here's the deal. As much as I'd love to say that every time I receive a Stitch Fix box it's filled with home run items…..that isn't always the case. In fact, my August Box (which arrived yesterday)…..has a couple things that aren't exactly a match.
What to Do When You Don't LOVE Your Fix (5 simple things to help get a Stitch Fix that you are obsessed with):
Pinterest Board: Do you have a Pinterest Board for Stitch Fix outfit inspiration? I do. And I sent the link to my stylist. So if I don't LOVE my fix? The first thing I do…..is pin a ton of things I like to that board. The secret? Pin other people's things FROM stitch fix. Google “Stitch Fix Review”. Or follow some of your favorite style bloggers, and pin from their blog posts sharing their items. Or follow Stitch Fix's Pinterest account and repin things you love from them.
Give SPECIFIC Feedback: When you check out, give REALLY specific feedback. What do you not like? The fabric? The style? What about the style. Is it too short? I've been as specific as saying “look, I'm a mother of a toddler…..a shorter skirt? Not realistic for me!” The more you share, the more your stylist gets to know YOU.
Try requesting a certain type of fix: Looking for staples? Ask for a year-round staple fix. Need tops? Ask for tops only. Jeans? Or specify a certain event you need items for. Sometimes asking for a certain type of fix allows your stylist to be more focused on your needs!
Go back to your Style Profile: Go through it again. Maybe you need to narrow down some answers? Maybe your needs have changed? I just updated mine. Saying that I wear business casual clothes every now and again? No wonder I just got a blazer that probably will never be worn!
When all else fails, make a change: If it REALLY isn't working after these changes……request a new stylist. Yes, you can do that. And it's totally ok. Sometimes, the connection just isn't there. Ask for a new set of eyes!
In case you aren't already a Stitch Fix nut…….a bit about the service: Stitch Fix is a personalized styling service that sends five pieces to your doorstep. The great thing? When you join, you fill out an extensive styling profile. You can request certain items or even ask for options for a specific event. You choose how often you get a fix (for me it’s once a month). In the comfort of your own home, you try on all items. Then you keep what you love, and send back the rest…..and all with free shipping! There is a $20 styling fee, but you can use that $20 as a credit towards any of the items you keep. And YES, you can set a price range you feel comfortable with.
