Daylight is lasting longer these days, which means after work we have more time to play…….and visit our local farm stand. This boho tunic? Perfect for warm evenings.
Thank you to Ann Blanche for collaborating on this post.
Photos by Cindy Green Photo Working mom life. There are so many moments that are just plain exhausting. It feels like a giant hamster wheel at times. From the moment the alarm goes off, to school drop off, to rushing into my own school, to pick up, to dinner, to bedtime……I find myself collapsing on the couch every evening.
Lately, I've been trying to break up our routine a little. I know….for a Type A mama like me this is shocking. But, those unplanned moments after work? Lydia and I need them. We need to visit our local farm stand and stay to watch them feed the baby goat. We need to stay up past bedtime to see the moon rising. We need to have a parade around our neighborhood (I'm sure our neighbors totally appreciated it).
Why? Because I want to look back in a couple years and remind Lydia's toddler years as being filled with joy. I want to remember laughter and smiles, not rushing and exhaustion (although, those things are a part of our lives too).
Like all teacher moms, I'm ready to step off the hamster wheel for a couple months. I'm ready to rest, recharge, and spend time with my own daughter. Why? So that in August, I can kiss my own little one goodbye each morning……and do my very best to create an amazing experience for YOUR little ones.
If you see a teacher today, please thank them. The best teachers give their “school families” just as much love and dedication as their own. And that? Is something we should all be grateful for.
Side note…….this outfit is my “it's almost summer vacation” favorite. The tunic? The shorts? Perfect for warm weather. And these Ann Blanche flats? I love that I can wear them year round. (Plus, they passed my shoe test…..they survived a full teaching day.)
While I may be obsessed with shoes….Lydia is obsessed with ribbons and animals. So her shoes? The selling point? The “fancy bows”. And her adorable bunny? Is from an amazing company that gives back. Cuddle + Kind gives 10 meals to a child in need for every animal sold. So cool right? Love mamas? And little ones in cute clothes? Then the Mamas and Minis Style Collective is for YOU!
