Let’s talk about Glowfest. If you follow my Instagram, then you know I had the opportunity to attend an amazing event. I shared a bit about it there, but I wanted to talk about it here as well.
Life is funny sometimes. A couple weeks ago, I realized I hadn’t eaten a vegetable in five days…..but I’d drank about twenty cups of coffee. Probably not good, right? To be honest, the last few months have been exhausting. Between work, mom life, exercising five days a week and trying to see friends……I didn’t leave a lot of time to take care of my own nutrition. Lunch? Whatever random food I threw into my lunch box the night before. And while I wasn’t eating horribly, I wasn’t eating well either. So, I decided to rejoin Weight Watchers. I was a Weight Watchers member years ago, and it was honestly the best relationship I had with food as an adult. I learned to eat with a balance, I indulged sometimes, and I actually ate vegetables.
No joke, three days after I rejoined? I received an email inviting me to Glowfest. At first, I thought they must have installed cookies in my computer. HOW DID THEY KNOW? Glowfest was described as a day of wellness, balance and celebration. It was cohosted by Popsugar and Weight Watchers. Oh, and it was one block from our old apartment in my favorite neighborhood.
So what happened at Glowfest? I feel in LOVE with Weight Watchers in a whole new way. Their new Beyond the Scale Program? EXACTLY what I needed (seriously, they may have read my mind). Beyond the Scale is a program that encourages healthy living (and yes, one component is weight loss….but there is so much more)!
Honestly…..every component of the event was just amazing. From a manicure truck to a dance class, I loved that Glowfest encouraged us all to have fun and find balance. It wasn’t just about the food….it was about self care, balance, and fitness. They even had suggestions for ways to bit small bursts of exercise into a busy day….perfect for a busy, working mom! And it may not have been all about food but, let me tell you…..the food was amazing! I mean, if this is “diet food”…..what have I been doing?!?From a garden of veggies, to an avocado salad, to breakfast tacos that I recreated at home the next morning….I left Glowfest feeling inspired. I feel like I can plan meals that are healthy, taste great, and will help me have more energy (plus feel great in a bathing suit come summer). So mamas, have you ever tried Weight Watchers? I’m going to be reporting my progress on Instagram each week……so be sure to check in there. And if you’re a Weight Watchers lover, let me know your fav recipes!
