Thank you to Barnes and Noble and The Motherhood for partnering together on this post.As a teacher, books are my THING. I used to visit bookstores on the weekends just to browse…..and then, mommyhood happened. I’m horrified to admit, until this weekend Lydia had probably never seen the inside of an actual bookstore. She LOVES to read, and we own over 400 children’s books……but visiting an actual bookstore with her? Hadn’t happened! You should have seen the excitement on her face Saturday morning when I told her we were going to Barnes and Noble for storytime…..it made my teacher heart sing.
Lydia and I had an amazing morning browsing our local Barnes and Noble……and I left with a list as long as my arm of gifts to buy for our loved ones.
From signed first editions of best sellers, to hostess gifts and stocking stuffers, to toys (Lydia found a teddy bear twice her size)……I couldn’t believe the amazing variety in gift options at our store. My favorite? The 30th anniversary edition of The Polar Express that will be available starting on Black Friday. Is it lame that I’m going back that morning to buy it?The best part of the whole trip? Seeing Lydia run around the aisles waving to all the books! She was so excited, had a great time at storytime and selected three books to bring home. I absolutely loved it…..and it was FREE. I mean, you can’t beat that! We have this flyer on our fridge now, so that we can attend some of the in-store events that Barnes and Noble has coming up for the holidays……the Elf on the Shelf adoption event? Absolutely! And Polar Express Storytime? At our location it’s a pajama party! Have you attended events at your local bookstore? Be sure to check out Barnes and Noble for holiday gift giving and great in store events!
