Photos by Mily Cooper PhotographyI know, I know. We went to the pumpkin patch AGAIN. I can't help it, Lydia's obsessed with pumpkins and it's right on the way home from her daycare. This time…..while we look all cute in out Mommy and Me Outfit……we had a bit of a crisis. After you finish reading this…..scroll down. At this lovely pumpkin patch, they have a fun play area for the kids. It's insane….there's a jumper, hay, and a giant area filled with ride-on cars. Now, I swear Lydia has like 4 of these cars at home. She's never been obsessed with them before. But the other night? You'd think we deprive her of all play opportunities at home. Plus, I'm pretty sure people at the pumpkin patch think I'm the worst mother ever. Who wanted to see the actual pumpkins? Not Lydia. Who wanted to see the farm animals? Not Lydia. Who wanted to have a total temper tantrum until she got to ride on ALL the cars? My daughter. I have to give her credit, she was committed to getting her way. Plus, as much as it pains me to say…..she looked pretty adorable riding the cars.
So, here's my question……more experienced moms……when do you give in to a temper tantrum? I tend to ask Lydia to calm down and use her words when she's upset. Luckily, she's very verbal. Unluckily, she was able to explain very clearly “toy cars please”. So I backed myself into a corner, right? She did what I asked….she communicated. Thoughts? Should I have anticipated car-maggedeon? Silly me thinking that the pumpkins would be the biggest attraction! #mommyissues
