#TideThatOk, so I try to be authentic around here. One of my total pet peeves? When I see cute babies on blogs dressed in things that no mom in their right mind would dress a toddler in. Obviously children dress up for special occasions, and I love a good tutu skirt on a toddler as much as the next mom…..but let's be honest…..Lydia's not wearing those skirts to the park. When I buy clothes for her, I tend to buy darker colors that won't show a ton of dirt. But, I couldn't help it. This cream lace dress was so cute, I made an exception. I planned for Lydia to wear this adorable dress in family pictures (you'll see them up later this week)….and dressed her in it a few days earlier on a whim. To be totally transparent, I forgot that I should save it for those family photos. And despite how cute she looks here, she rolled around in the DIRT less than five minutes after taking these pictures.
I didn't realize the dress was THAT dirty until we got home. Then I freaked. Was I supposed to buy ANOTHER dress for our family pictures? Luckily it was machine washable (cause who buys non-machine washable kid clothing?).
The best part of this whole debacle? I didn't have time to do laundry until the next evening….so the dirt sat on this adorable little dress. And to add insult to injury, I was out of stain remover. But, I had grabbed a package of Tide Pods at the recommendation of a mom friend. (She claimed they worked miracles). So, I threw two pods into our washer (it was an extra tough load after all)….piled Lydia's laundry on top….and crossed my fingers. Well, I guess that's why we ask other moms for advice. Those dirt stains? GONE. And this worked on delicate cycle with cooler water.
Before writing this post, I did a little Tide Pods research. No wonder my mommy friend is obsessed! Tide Pods have the combined benefits of detergent + stain remover + brightener, and dissolve easily in any water temperature.
Moral of my Tide Pods story? Yes you can dress your little one in white once in awhile……just keep those Tide Pods in stock! (and stay tuned, you'll see those family pictures later this week)
