We all need a little black dress, right? A really pretty, super flattering, put it on anytime and feel like a million bucks little black dress. Well, here's mine. I'd wear it every single day if I could. It is literally the best thing I've put on since the day Lydia was born. So, let's back up a little. This dress is a part of a bit of a Cinderella story.
While I was in New York this summer, I was lucky enough to meet the women of Project Gravitas. You know when you meet some people and immediately realize you were meant to be friends? It was like that. And the more I learned about their company, the deeper I fell in love. Project Gravitas was founded by a woman, for women. They make stunning dresses that help women feel amazing. Their pieces have shapewear built in. As someone who had NEVER worn shapewear, I was apprehensive. Until I saw the dresses. High quality fabric, beautiful detailing and cut perfectly.
Fast forward to last month. These lovely ladies emailed me to say they'd be in Los Angeles, and asked if I'd like to invite some of my favorite influencers to a dinner where they'd get to learn all about Project Gravitas. A dinner with some of my favorite LA bloggers? Who says no to that? And the icing on the cake? A couple days before the dinner……a bunch of boxes from Project Gravitas arrived. They sent TONS of their dresses for me to try on!
I felt like Cinderella. From the moment I tried the first dress on, I realized I had totally underestimated their line. I have NEVER felt as beautiful as I did in these dresses. And that shapewear I was so scared of? Totally comfortable!!! The Project Gravitas dinner took place at the absolutely amazing Del Frisco's Grille in Santa Monica. Want a taste of the LA lifestyle? Del Frisco's Grille is directly across from the Santa Monica Pier and has a stunning view of what we all pay the big bucks to live near…..the Pacific Ocean! Our dinner took place on their patio, the perfect spot to meet up with a couple girlfriends for cocktails and unwind while watch the sun set. And the food? I can't say enough. Del Frisco's just added a ton of new items to their menu. The Asian Street Tacos? I'd make the drive in LA traffic for more. My Brick Chicken? Phenomenal. And I was so full that they sent me home with their famous Lemon Doberge Cake. The next day hubby and I almost came to blows over who got the last bite.
Amazing food. Amazing clothes. A fun group of Influencers. It was the perfect night for my little black dress to debut!
