I've been looking forward to this post all week, because I have big news. Remember when I used to do outfits posts by myself? Well, they're back. Don't worry, mommy and me posts aren't going anywhere……but I missed doing outfits that were just for moms. Date night attire, weekends away…..I'm excited to share some of my favorite outfits for the times I'm not chasing a toddler around (although those times are rare around these parts!). Last weekend, we headed to “Roaring Nights” at the Los Angeles Zoo. For a few select nights in the summer, the zoo is open for adults only…..there are bars, food trucks, and bands. We had a BLAST, I wore these grown up clothes, and experimented with new makeup (see more about THAT below). It reminded me that we need to work on making those nights more regular!
The makeup is amazing, right? I feel like I usually wear the exact same makeup for date nights. So when Au Naturale Cosmetics sent over their new Golden Goddess Collection, I was excited to get out of my makeup rut. This collection is filled with glowing colors that are perfect for romantic nights. It contains two shades of golden powder eyeshadows, the prettiest pink blush you've ever seen, a golden henna bronzer, and a rose gold highlighter. Au Naturale Cosmetics are organic, vegan, naturally derived, gluten free, and cruelty free. Plus, they're stunning. They survived an entire date night and didn't budge…..and were super easy to use. I normally shy away from powder eyeshadows….but these were easy as pie!
So, what did I apply? And where?
a) After using my regular foundation and concealer, I applied Au Naturale's Rose Gold Organic Creme Highlighter to cheekbones, browbones, and the bow of my lips.
b) I used Au Naturale's Pink Champagne Powder Blusher to emphasize my cheeks.
c) After apply a shadow primer, I used Au Naturale's Gold Dust Powder Eye Shadow all over my lids and applied their Golden Henna Powder Bronzer in my crease. The best part of powder pigments? They're super versatile!
d) I finished with brown liner and mascara…..and was totally date night ready!
So moms, what are you wearing on date nights these days? Are your date nights regular? Or do you need to step it up in the date night department (it's ok, so do we!)
